Man, the pricing for this game makes no sense around the internet. NSKN is selling above the only MSRP I can find. It appears that Massdrop is making a habit of pre-purchasing a group of reprints before they're out and selling them. The low price I found on the old print was down to $36 for this game. It just seems like there's some out of print inflation going on even though this is being sold for when the game is back in print. Feels real shady.

CaillteThey are doing the same with Root. Higher than market for a game only temporarily OoS. I think they want people to not notice that these games arent shipping right away. Or to be swayed by paying a little more as a tradeoff for free shipping.

aesthetocystThat's what I was starting to see. I actually commented similarly on the Root drop as well and don't really like the trend I'm seeing. I think it's really possible that Massdrop is just not the right place to source board games.

CaillteI wouldn't say that. I would treat them like any other vendor. Consider each offer versus what else is in the marketplace. Some of them drops are very competitive, even great. Others are meh. I have yet to see a terrible deal on a boardgame here, but lots of meh ones. There recent addition of "communities" and the associated category-based communications has been bringing more of the 'meh' to my attention :D So, not a main vendor for me, but a source of the occasional pleasant surprise.

aesthetocystSolid point - but I think the point of creating a separate category was to increase the offering AND SALES of board games, not just highlight a bunch of "meh" offerings. The community at large is going to share and expose the online dealers and help their fellow buyers out, that's where things are now. I happily spend at or close to retail at a brick and mortar to keep them around, but my online dollars go to the most competitive prices, fastest shippers and the best customer service plain and simple.
