Jae9Theyre bivvy bags, not sleeping bags. They're not insulation, theyre wind/rain/sharp rocks protection for a sleeping bag. So no R value or temp rating. Throw a 50 degree bag in or a 0 degree bag, and use that rating.
Jae9Actually an interesting ?
if the survival bag compresses the down reducing loft as everyone knows the sleep bag loses efficiency and the rating will go down.
if the sleeping bag is at maximum loft and the survival bag sits loose on the sleeping bag that will increase insulation and certainly will be worth some extra degrees.
good luck
