I'm currently using the Shure SE125 as my daily driver earbuds, and I was wondering whether these would be a good buy to maybe replace them with. Most important factors would be whether or not the earbuds sound better as well as how the comfort of the two pairs compare. Should I jumped on these earbuds, and set my SE215s aside as my backups, or continue to use the 215s?

JGunnzThe internet seems to belive these are a big improvement in sound quality, as long as you'd don't mind more bass or modding

JGunnzThe build quality seems great on these IEMs for the price, but if you want a less risky investment I'd go with the Ostry KC06A IEMs which you can find on Amazon. I've used the Shure SE215's in the past and they left a sour taste in my mouth for a long time with how awful their "comfort" and durability were — I went through 2 pairs and the sweat from simply living in a desert climate destroyed both of them. Granted, these TFZ series IEMs are designed somewhat differently, but needing to use the over-ear rubber attachment isn't going to be pleasant. I hate reading comments by audiophiles, honestly. A lot of them tend to drop everything for perceived sound quality without paying attention to design flaws, durability issues, and gaping ergonomic issues. I can vouch for the Ostry KC06A as the best budget in-earphones I've ever used in my life. Take from that what you will.

Digital_ZenI agree with you. Owning both, I'd go with the Ostry too. Nothing's perfect, but the Ostry is just a better IEM for under $100--more balanced and comfortable.

Digital_ZenI had 2 pairs of Ostry KC06's, the problem is that both failed after one year of use, and didn't fail from abuse or something like that, the driver inside just failed, figured that one out after disabling both. Other than that they are amazing for the price (that's why I bought the second pair even after the first died on me)

SkinnerSweetYou should get yours warranteed. I heard they're good about such things. Like I said earlier, I own two Ostrys and both still going strong. One pair I thoroughly abuse in my hikes/jogs (i.e. lots of pulling the cable and sweat) which is why I got a 2nd one as a backup -- currently it's my longest surviving IEM of any "enthusiast" brand I purchased thus far. YMMV.
