Will this work with my Bose QC25s and AT-LP60 turntable? I think the turntable already has a pretty sick built-in preamp but definitely trying to step up my game/impress my friends!
NotaDrYes, there is no reason it would not work with that combination, since the Turntable has a phono-stage/pre-amp already. Though I don't usually recommend noise cancelling headphones for non-transit related listening, they will work just fine.
NotaDrIf I have to be honest, considering your existing gear, it may be more worth it to use your money on different things than this headphone amp. For example, the LP60 does have a pre-amp but it isn't amazing. If I were you I might consider things such as a DAC if you need one, a better phono pre-amp, getting a nice cartridge for the turntable, a cheaper headphone amp, etc. There are some really great headphone amps out there for half of this price. This is an end-game status amp, so if you eventually plan on owning headphones and turntables on the same level then this could be a pretty great investment. Disclaimer: It is only my opinion that it would probably be best to spread your funds out a little bit for a nice balanced system instead of having all of your money in the headphone amp. I just wanted to give you something to consider before you drop all of that money on a headphone amp. You may not get $1000 worth of performance out of your headphones considering your current setup. That being said, if you play your cards right, you're on your way to a great system!
ThePope@NotaDr - I'm inclined to agree here. Your kit will certainly work - there is no question about it. But as much as I want to sell our amps, if you are spending at this point to step up your game, you'd probably be better off spreading that across your source and headphone as well as an amp - not just the EMAC 535.
This is why I'm not a professional salesman. :/
ThePopeThe whole spreading your money to maximize your sound output should be mentioned more often. Very nice. I've seen too many friends dump a bunch of money on a single component that doesn't compliment or enhance their current setup with price vs hardware vs entire setup and/or the rest of his/her budgeted hardware.
