I know that this is basically an accessory rather than an actual keyboard one would use, but those keycaps seem really cheap, as in awful to type on and I'm pretty sure they were dropped once and the legends are basicalle printed with an inkjet printer
Also the fact that it doesn't offer any switches beyond the mainstream ones is a big letdown

Draxoryou can't deny the beauty of it tho. it looks absolutelly stunning. but then again, your not gonna shell out half a grand on a keyboard to actually use it.....

DraxorI have the same keys on my Tex Yoda, as I've always fantasized about a sweet steampunk keyboard. And you're right. The keys do feel cheap and plasticky, which is a major shame, considering I had to plunk down $100 for the keyset here on Massdrop :( That being said, I'm growing accustomed to typing on round keys instead of the regular rectangular keys, and for the most part they're not bad. The shift keys are way too narrow to be of much use, they leave a huge gap where I'm accustomed to pressing the shift key. I ended up restoring that one original key just so I could function.

yorgasorI also have a set of datamancer typewriter keys. I wouldn't say they feel cheap and "plasticky," aren't most keys plastic? I would've thought the rings were made of glass, they feel exactly like an old typewriter

NYalexbeauty lies in the eye of the beholder. Personally I am not a fan of the steampunk-ish style

KrutchOh? All I heard and saw was that the keys feel extremely cheap due to the plastic top covers and that the legends look like some inkjet paper cutouts

DraxorIt would be absolutely unheard of for keycaps of any kind to contain plastic.

KrutchC'mon you know what i meant by that, kinda how ABS feels low quality to people. But yeah zinc users are basically plastic free :P

DraxorI like steampunk - this is gorgeous:

See attached (if not my style)
But I honestly don't get the appeal of this keyboard - if it weren't for the material cost it looks like a $40 Chinese novelty.
I'm guessing they managed to use $400 worth of metal for those side supports - certainly looks like it! :D
But as they say, no accounting for taste! :)
