The Walled City: Londonderry & Borderlands

Start your campaign to become the city’s first mayor as you compete to create villages, city walls, and guard towers in Londonderry’s colonial crossroads. As your township grows, it becomes harder to maintain—each decision you make could lead to an opponent converting your hard-earned area into their own. In addition, the backside of the Londonderry board is a bonus game board called Borderlands. Borderlands provides a completely different spatial arrangement and set of cards so you can mix things up on occasion. Also, every die and scoring chit is randomly selected before starting, so the board’s setup will look different each time you play.

The Walled City is divided into 2 rounds, each with four phases. The first round involves building roads to section off neighborhoods, then populating them with loyal Nobles and peasants. The second round involves building walls to enclose your neighborhoods and manning guard towers to defend them. Beware, unfinished roads will combine neighborhoods, and gaps in walls will cause Nobles to flee the city, so each decision you make is crucial. Scoring is based on area majority: the player with the most neighborhoods loyal to them is declared winner.
