My WhiteFox (TrueFox Fully Assembled) arrived today, sadly not assembled as specified, and missing some bits. There is no '=' keycap, and my Cherry MX blues had about half of them with very crushed contacts. I carefully straightened them all and soldered it up. Having some issues getting a layout to work from the configurator.

StreetPreacherI think they had a few options when buying, 'barebones' (assembly & switches/keycaps required), 'kit' (parts provided but assembly required), and finally the fully assembled (parts and assembly done in advance). Each option required more $$$. If I remember correctly they were charging $20 - $30 more for the 'fully assembled' vs the 'kit' keyboards so I would be hitting them up for a refund, especially since there have been crazy delays... I thought I adjusted to the delays with the KC60 I purchased through here :\, only to have a defective KC60 which I'm now waiting on a replacement or refund...
The configurator issues are they with loading a new layout or just trying to get the base layout working?

StreetPreacherwell that is a bit concerning....maybe I should cancel if it's not perfect....for the price (and I have to edit this because the guy below had an aneurysm) and the amount of delays to ensure quality, it should be straight up perfect...what i meant to say was, if i wanted to do any assembly or resoldering , i'd have got the barebones kit, i expect a perfect product if I'm waiting this long for it to be QC'd

eskimatticasYou realize this is the very first production run of a brand new product, right? There are guaranteed to be snags. Expecting perfection is totally moronic, even "for the price". It won't be perfect. You should have known that going in.
Posts like this make my head explode.

Datawell don't let your head should explode.....because I'm fine with the delays, months of delays, not a big deal, but if my assembled kit gets to me, and then has to be retooled...i don't think it's worth it for me...just a simple comment...your "moronic" post isn't even warranted , i was simply noting that it looked like he had issues with quality once it got to him....which concerns me

eskimatticasWell the build quality is fantastic on the plate, case, and PCB the packing was very well done, presentation again very well done. The only real gripes are with the missing key and some of the odd profiles on the keycaps. But to be fair there is also a LOT of extra keys thrown in as you can see on the picture with the "AnyKey" in place of my `=` key. There are quite a few like it. Again not wanting to disparage anyone from this drop the keyboard when it works 100% will be amazing I am sure. And quality is worth the wait most of the time.

StreetPreacherthat's good to know...i suppose my main concern is , if there was some issue with the product, i'm not too thrilled with what kind of customer support we would get from MD

eskimatticasOK guy. You literally threatened to cancel if it wasn't perfect. But I'm the one overreacting...

nix_fanI will see, it is hard to tell from the MD site exactly which options on this drop were ordered, but as I recall it was supposed to be 100% Fully Assembled. I am pretty happy that I just got it finally though.
As for the configurator issues. I am having issues with the base layout and also loading a custom layout. The base was not loaded for "TrueFox" I am unsure which variant it was loaded with to start but it did not work well with my switch layout. I have since created a TrueFox Blank layout and flashed it but it does not seem to be working well. Still figuring it out a bit, it may very well be a problem with my understanding. (This flasher/configurator is different than many I have used before such as the winkeyless.kr and the like.)

Datayes calling people names on a thread about a keyboard is a bit overreacting....and using phrases like "make my head explode" , is a bit dramatic ....

eskimatticasI never called you a name. I said the BEHAVIOR was moronic. And if I used a "dramatic" phrase it was only to echo how completely unreasonable you were (are?) being. Sorry for calling you out on your bullshit. I'll reconsider next time.
Have a swell day.

StreetPreacherWait, you ordered a fully assembled board and already got it? Or you ordered assembled but got a kit? I'm confused.

Colluphid42As it turns out I ordered the kit. I finally found where it differentiates on the receipt. So my only issues now are the missing keycaps, some of the odd profiling on the keycaps, and struggling a bit with the learning curve on the configuration. Other than that it is a beauty of a keyboard.

StreetPreacherI have a missing key as well. Mine is the "any key." I contacted support 7 days ago without any answer. Very disappointed in this drop with all of the overall problems and delays.
Edit: After looking at all of the other comments and seeing all the misalignments, I too see them even thought I haven't put my board together. To be honest, a bunch of the keys look off white in certain areas as well (slight yellowed or so). Might just be from the uneven thickness that people have been showing with the bleed through from their LEDs.
I've also noticed that I received a blank 1.5u key right above where the "any key" is missing from. I've seen unboxings and noticed that it should be a "FN" key.

STINKY10306I knew I wasn't imagining things. My 7U space bar and 1.75U shift look a bit off white (the space bar is worse but I don't use it). It's impossible to get a good picture of the issue (at least with my phone).
