Mounted directly behind your rearview mirror, the Thinkware F50 Dash Cam goes virtually unnoticed when driving, but it can get you out of trouble in the event of a crash. Using a Sony Exmor CMOS sensor, it offers 1080p HD video capture so you can clearly identify license plates, faces, and other key details during playback. The wide 140-degree viewing angle helps capture everything in the scene. Thinkware’s proprietary software automatically saves video footage to the memory card, which reduces the chances of file corruption.
Note: At checkout, you can add the Thinkware hardwiring kit for (+ $25).
When you start your engine, the dash cam automatically records in 1-minute increments. When parked, it switches to Parking Surveillance Mode, which uses motion-sensing technology to protect your vehicle from hit-and-runs. Incident Recording detects impact and automatically records 10 seconds prior to and after impact. And if you see something unexpected, use Manual Recording to record it yourself. To prevent collisions, the F50 has a Road Safety Warning System that alerts drivers when veering out of lane or coming too close to other vehicles. Built into the system is a database of over 8,000 traffic enforcement cameras across North America, so you can avoid tickets, too.
