This is Ground Pen & Pencil Case

From Los Angeles-based leather goods company This is Ground, this slim case is designed to hold your everyday writing tools and other essentials. It’s made from vegetable-tanned Italian leather and features a sturdy, clamshell-style metal zipper. Inside, you’ll find six slots. The sewn loops on the right can stretch a bit, but are best suited for slimmer items like pencils or travel pens; each measures 0.6 inches wide. Meanwhile, the adjustable slots on the left can accommodate items with a larger diameter (like full-size fountain pens, pocket rulers, and markers), with the leftmost slot measuring 1.1 inches wide and the second leftmost measuring 0.6 inches wide. Finally, the short horizontal slot can fit an eraser or charging cable.

This is Ground’s mission is simple: Create minimalist, easy-to-carry tools that allow people to be more creative and productive every day. All products are designed and prototyped in the company’s headquarters in downtown Los Angeles using leather sourced in Tuscany. The leather’s character comes to life during the wash-and-dry phase, and it’s then pressed for smoothness and dyed with vegetable tannins to achieve its signature colors. Enriched with cow fat for scratch protection and spray-finished for a soft hand, it promises to age well and develop a unique patina over time.
