Damn, my whole post just got deleted while trying to add an image.
Here I go again.
I have four pairs of these boots - different colors. They are amazing. They run about 1/2 size large. They come with an insole that is removable. With that, you can use or remove the insole and vary socks thickness to make them fit just right - and being lace-to-toe, you can get them tightened to fit your perfectly.
The shoes are heavy, and they are the real-deal, Made in the USA built to last. I get compliments everywhere I go - I've climbed mountains in them, walked for days on vacation, and just for general bumming around. I will be joining this drop as the Natural were on my short list.
Thorogood is a great American company, located in WI, and the people there are tops.
Here's some I polished up during the Vikings halftime yesterday.
BTW, I am talking about the Portage roofers here, although I own the others as well.
I wear a 13, but some of them are 12's. For the 12's, I wear a thinner sock. For the Natural, I am not sure what way to go, but either work fine for me.
For fun, when I travel, I buy boot laces in different colors to mix things up. The pics below show Brown, Black, and Indigo - which are hard to get good pics of. They are all CXL, and a mix of horse and steer. I don't see any difference between the two choices - they wear and feel the same, so it's not an issue for me as opposed to jackets made from horse vs steer, which can be very different.
WhichwaydidheGoCan't say. I'm a "D" but I would wager an "E" could do OK. I would guess not, but your best bet is to find a place to try them on. Good luck, I feel for you.
slb1961Just got my first pair two days ago from an online clearance site for $75. They are the limited edition mustard color Portage. Love the fit and feel and yes they run big but I didn’t have an option to size down on the clearance sale. I plan on buying every color I can find because I love the look, but I really don’t want to pay $300+ per pair. I will have to just be patient and search hard. Hopefully MD brings these back!
