So, you are in a life or death situation; and you have to take the pen out of its pouch, unscrew the end, and scrape the assailant just to collect DNA to help authorities find your killer? I doubt not many people will have enough time to think to use this. And even without the pen, there will be plenty of DNA under your fingernail to get DNA off of if you struggled with the assailant.

andypak01I wonder if there's a "less-than-legal" use for the DNA collector, like those glass tubes at gas stations with a fake rose inside...They just happen to be useful as crack pipes as well. That isn't of course what the manufacturer built them for though...they just happen to be popular at gas stations in seedy neighborhoods. I'm sure you could "tactically" torture someone with the DNA collector, but of course that isn't the intended purpose...surely not.

wontonotnowI used to work at liquor store and market in Compton and Long Beach. Areas where mentioned in rap music. I assure you, those rose in a tube is just a disguise and only use they have is for smoking crack. I doubt they give them as gift to their baby mamas haha. I did get into intense situations where I got held up at gun point twice, knife fight once that almost took my left eye (got barely away at nick of time with cut across my eyebrow and sadly does not grow hair anymore), and few fights. It was intense since it was time during when Asians were on a green light to kill for gaining rep. I can say for certain, I would not bother with some pen like this when I am focused on surviving. If I get an opportunity to scrape for DNA with a pen, I would use that opportunity to take the gun away from the assailant, as supposed to scrape for DNA with the pen and get shot afterward.
