I'm very disappointed with the quality of this item. It is not safe to use and I fully regret this drop. The threading of the post connected directly to the bucket is loose and therefore the nail is never tightly affixed and uneven to the effect that the nail rarely if ever makes it into the bucket on the first try. IF YOURS IS LIKE THIS DO NOT USE IT YOU MAY SERIOUSLY INJURE YOURSELF. If Massdrop doesn't take returns I doubt they answer subpoenas so do yourself a favor and write this $40 off as a loss...

mademepickanameHey ALL if yours is like this just adjust it, because that is how it is supposed to be.
@mademepickaname, I see you are having difficulties using your Honey Bucket and I am here to help.
First of all the bucket should fit nicely into the bowl and also lift freely out with the handle. From what you describe, it sounds like you need to do a little adjustment starting with the bucket.
Take the handle screw completely out of the bucket and put the bucket into the bowl. [img:IMG_5624.nvk.jpg]
Move the arm into a position that lines up with the bucket and screw the handle back in.
Now lifting the handle , the bucket should move in and out of the bowl flawlessly. If it catches or will not seat properly just adjust the handle screw a little up or down until it reaches the perfect position.
If you still are having difficulties please let me know because these are supposed to be a hassle free solution to the old nail and dome set up.

Jaysunjust received mine. The swing arm is very loose and the bucket does not sit properly above the bowl. It's either fully in or fully out and set against the back of the bowl. There is no way to adjust the swing arm tighter to keep it propped up at a 90 degree angle. Is this normal action? I've seen videos online that suggest this is not normal.
Also the handle is all metal and heats up to the point of burning your finger when you go to flip it into the bowl. I'm wondering what exactly it is that I bought here.
First time buying through Massdrop and probably the last if this is the type of QC I can expect especially if products cannot be returned.

rip_kingHere is a video explaining more , please have a look!
I believe there is a learning curve to using one of these, It seems that we need a little more education on the overall understanding of this item.
I will try my best and if you have any specific questions please contact Jay@massdrop.com so I can explain in more detail.
I only do this because people seem to having difficulties with a perfectly fine product.
Thanks for understanding,
JaySun

rip_kingVery disappointed that the bucket can't remain vertically in the air without some careful balancing. Don't really have a solution there.
But in my experience if the handle is burning hot, you are probably heating the bucket too long (if it's glowing it's too hot) or leaving the hot bucket in the bowl for too long. I would let it swing back all the way so heat doesn't transfer to the bowl or handle. Hope that helps!

JaysunHey JaySun,
First off that video - while useful in theory - isn't very helpful in practice as they don't actually heat the thing up. If you heat it the way he orients the bucket, you are also torching your joint/stem. Do you guys really think that's how the product should be used?
With a proper honey bucket, the arm should be able to hold the bucket straight up into the air to allow for proper heating (without the risk of falling and knocking over your rig like with this drop). Please see the following videos:
- quartz but same concept

I'm very disappointed in this drop as it will eventually cause someone to get hurt or damage their glass. I hope in the future you guys provide much better pictures and make your own videos demonstrating the product's use. Videos like the one you linked are very misleading. I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt in doing your due diligence into the products you sell, and I love what you do, but think even the most casual of users can point out the flaws in this product. What a bummer.
