DropsalotRE: the video, Toaks doesn't recommend filling it into the upper section above the vent holes. Doing this will work, but will hinder the gasification. Still works fine as a vessel for containing a fire, but I have definitely seen that it smokes more and has a more wild burn that will ash up your pot when you overfill it. Plus, if you're concerned with LNT fire building, overfilling typically leads to an incomplete burn of the tinder as compared to letting it gasify where I'm always left with just ash unless the wood is sappy or wet which makes the ash harder to disperse evenly into the surrounding soil. Just to be clear, that's a very mild issue that is much more about how you use the stove than the stove itself.
