No handle? Criminy, pass. This ultralight camping thing is getting bonkers. What will they sell next? Boots with no soles? SUPER LIGHT! (facepalm)

KnifeGuySome people don't trust the handles that come on these pots for various reasons (too small, some are coated with material that could catch fire, etc), and they actually prefer using a pot lifter for these reasons.

DesertRat(shrug) Well, I sincerely hope that those folks will come in and buy one of these. As for me, I camp quite often, and all of my pots are steel, with an actual steel handle. I enjoy being able to reach out with a mitt and grab it up. I didn't have to purchase a separate item in order to utilize it, which I guess, is really my problem here. A pot with no handle? It should really come with that pot lifter as part of the package.

KnifeGuyIt's a personal preference thing. I already have a pot lifter from another set and they can be had much cheaper if you get aluminum, but some of the ultralighters count every single gram, hence the titanium. I have a titanium pot (with handles, even!) that helped me cut 6 oz off my pack weight, plus it packs better and saves space vs. my old cookset. Some people are happy with heavier pots and that's fine. Some people want to save every single gram and if they're having fun, it's fine. I prefer a middle ground myself.

KnifeGuyI'm cool with no handle, because the stumpy little handles get too hot to be of use anyway.

Hey all - thanks for the great conversation. I think there are a few of the reasons a handless pot is appealing. It nests well with other pots. It sits well in a pot cozy. It is particularly good over fires, where handles placed lower on the pot could be in the flame. The handle doesn't get hot. It weighs less without the handle, and some might just use wool gloves or hat to handle the pot. But I think the weight issue is the least likely reason people are buying this - it's more about intended use.

KnifeGuyI agree, the pot lifter should come included. The lifter ($20) almost costs as much as the pot. Massdrop should have worked for a better discount on the pot lifter.

M_at_o@M_at_o - as you know, we sometimes offer bundles (like the pot and pot lifter) and inevitably, I get requests from members who only one to buy one item or the other. So we try to switch it up - sometimes bundles, and sometimes a main item with choice to add on an appropriate accessory. This is the first time we've offered this particular Toaks pot, so we decided against the bundle. However, maybe next time. Thanks for the suggestion.
