Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. When I get home I'll have a closer look at how I have Foobar set up to see if there is something different from what you've got posted here and report back.
The Foobar volume control apparently doesn't do anything when playing DSD - it outputs at 100% for me as well. I think that is normal for DSD codec files. JRiver may behave differently, you could give that media player a try.
Also, I run my Foobar media player output at 100% for all digital audio file streaming to my DACs any way because I control volume after the DAC with a tube buffer/preamp/headphone amp.
