Is this worth it over an A30 & D30? Using HD6XX.

VxboogieI would say yes in terms of features, but if you only have HD6XX at the moment it would be for future equipment:
- Fully Balanced Output - XLR Outputs - Multiple outputs (headphones, monitors, subwoofer) - One integrated unit - better DAC chip (x2)? - newer, maybe not necessarily better since they both measure well. Still, DAC for each channel and it would be the more coveted chip: 2xESS9038 vs Cirrus Logic CS4398

muggyAnybody know if the ESS9038 PRO for the Gustard X22 is a much better chip than the ESS9038 regular? What about during cases when there are two ESS9038 like this Topping, isthere a big difference and if so what? I'm wondering if the X22 is a better sound match w/ the Gustard H20 which I'm in the drop for.
Also, I have already a Cambridge Audio DAC Magic Plus already w/ dual Wolfson and balanced out but am going to buy this dac still if it is in fact much better than the X22.

airjamesWhile I don't have the Gustard X22, I do have the Oppo UDP205 which uses the ES9038Pro vs DX7s uses 2x ES9038Q2M. Using both headphone output (HD6XXX and HE4XX) and RCA line out to tube amps (300B, KT88, 6550) in casual comparison (IMHO, if one has to go to great length to try to hear the differences, there aren't much difference to speak of), there are only very slight differences and that could be from other components such as op-amp etc. If I have to pick one, may be the DX7s
