Can the balanced output (XLR) use for Studio monitor? Volume controllable or fixed?

mrbinaryThe rear xlr output for monitors can be used both in variable and line out mode! It took me a bit to figure out but if you look at the remote there will be a line out button which will give the xlr full tilt, but there's a button in the center of the directionals that shows headphone+line out which will allow you to control the volume of the xlr output for monitors. Sadly you will also be outputting through the headphones jack but it def works.

DareToBeIt came with the unit back when the drop was for the non s variant. I can't speak on the new DX7s but if the remote is the same then the features should stick ("should").

DareToBeNow reading @BlayVLC comment I have to agree with the build quality. It is rather impressive. And if the battery runs out, it has the battery model on the back as well as easy to access screws to replace it.

bjvp182hi, i want to ask something. if i use DAC+HP mode, when i set the dB to a high value (for example -5dB), on my speaker its good but when i connect a headphone its so loud(this mean my HP get a very big output power from the dx7s). what do you thing about this? one more question, if i use DAC+HP mode and only use a speaker (HP not connected), can it break the HP output port or reduce the HP output port quality as year/as time goes by, because its always transfer a big output power?

  1. What speakers do you have? As for the output power, it will be proportionate to what each section is rated to output, if the speakers have volume on them as well, and the level of difficulty it is to drive those headphones. At -5dB if you plug in low impedance headphones you risk breaking the drivers or worse your ear drums lol. My best suggestion if you want to have your speakers and headphones at around the same perceived volume, set the volume on the dx7 to whats comfortable with your headphones and increase the volume on your speakers to match the headphone volume (of course this will only work if your speakers have a volume nob which i am assuming they do) .
  2. It was built to run like that, it will be fine not plugging in your heaphones and only running your speakers from it. If you wanted to be really safe about it then i'd recommend getting some high impeidance headphones so that their drivers dont pop from getting overpowered by the amp when it's set at such high values.
