The SUB stays on when I am in headphone mode. Very inconvenient for nighttime listening. Can anyone else confirm if theirs does this? Is there a way to disable the sub in headphone mode or do I have to reach over and unplug the sub every time?

Bobby9265i too have a unit that has this error. speaker only has sub, headphone only has sub, headphone and speaker does not have sub... it would make sense to have sub with speaker and headphone, but not headphone only. opening a case now.

Bobby9265I just received my unit today and it also drives the sub when in headphone mode. This is extremely disappointing to me and would not have purchased it if I had know this flaw existed...

Bobby9265Massdrop gave me the option of a refund or live with it. Trying to get Topping to help before my return window closes. The remote is also in need of some work, even with a new battery it is flakey.

linerrorAh. Good luck!! Let me know if Topping confirms the sub is supposed to be on during headphone mode. That seems so weird. My remote hasn't given me any issues

linerrorDoes it change anything if you switch the amp on and off / unplug and replug earphones, seems like a funny relay issue.

Bobby9265I sent a note to Topping about it. They responded. "Thank you for contacting TOPPING support. We are happy to assist. Your MX3 is normal. We do this is because some users will use MX3 as a pre-amplifier, they will connect the power amplifier from the headphone jack, and they need subwoofer output at the same time. Sorry for bringing you so many trouble!"
So it is not a bug, it is a feature. My sub has hi level in and out so I was able wire it differently and get around the problem. It seems to me that most people would not want the sub live when in headphone mode though...

pinktankno change, topping says it's by design and that if i don't want to have the subwoofer with headphones to unplug the subwoofer.
Hello Thank you for contacting TOPPING support. We are happy to assist. Your MX3 is normal. We do this is because some users will use MX3 as a pre-amplifier, they will connect the power amplifier from the headphone jack, and they need subwoofer output at the same time. So if you need to use headphone only, please pull out the subwoofer output. linerrorAh, bummer. Time to experiment with in-line switches on audio cables! I think that should work... Maybe I can wire it up to a covered toggle switch. "let's drop the beat!!"

Bobby9265thanks to all for passing along the responses from Topping !
while I wait for my MX3 to show up, I can debate whether I want to look at a sight of a passive switch box - for the life of the MX3 - as a way to remedy this unfortunate implementation of features

Bobby9265That does sound like a silly thing to do. Sometimes when we go with Chi-Fi (Chinese HiFi) we have to deal with silly things, I guess.
I do this for a different reason, but it might help here too. I have my Desktop monitors (JBL LSR 30X), my DAC/AMP (NFB-11) and sub-woofer all on separate pulgs with wireless remotes. So if I don't want my sub playing at night I jut hot a button and it powered off.
Also as the rest of the gear has the power button at the rear, making it a pain to turn on and off, I just leave them on and use to remote to tun them on/off. When I powering off my NFB-11 my PC defaults back to it on board audio, which I use for general computing. Turning on my NFB-11 I I get higher quality audio. Then I can turn on the sub If i really want to feel the thump. Luckily I got them remotes all on three different channels (A, B, C).
Perhaps this is a viable solution for you.
This is what I got : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OBYGW4Y/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
it has three outlet per unite, there are models with just one plug if that all you need.
