What's the minimum Android version this supports? I have a tiny Android phone that I bought to use as a portable Spotify player for downloaded music. Works great but needs a DAC like this to really make it shine.

RochambeauxAndroid 5.1 and up offer digital output through USB.

liteon163Is digital output from any source or only specific apps that support it? Would Spotify work?

RochambeauxAFAIK, it's system wide. I would consult the internet for further information.

RochambeauxRecommend Zorloo ZuperDAC, Pros: smaller package + excellent DAC chip + won't run out of battery of the Amp/DAC + few dollar cheaper Cons: reduce battery life of your phone + moderate built quality and appearance PS: you need Hi-Res compatible Apps installed on your phone in order to make the most out of the DAC

William_ShiuAnd for an amp to go with that?

iamlilysdadThe Zorloo has an Amp intergrated into it. However, with this sort of price range, I wouldn't expect using it to drive high impedance cans or iems, and the same goes to NX2s.

William_ShiuInteresting. On other threads people have said that the output level is pretty low. If it's really "normal" (like smartphone levels of output) then I think it would be fine.

iamlilysdadIMHO, the output of Zorloo is way "louder" than normal when I pair it with my Samsung Tab-S & Sony X-Compact plus AKG K267 & Aurisonics ASG 2.5. According to MD the output is 30 mW with ES9601 as the amp. I am over 40 with mild degree of hearing loss, still, I cannot crank it up above 50% on my cellphone (there is no volume control on the Zorloo). I am not sure what headphones or iems people used resulting with the comment of Zorloo is being low output or quiet. TBH, I once thought my DX100 DAP (US$ 800) would be sufficient enough to drive a LCD-2 properly, and of course that was just me being ignorant and silly. Likewise, if people were talking about "dynamics", then sure there are many better portable amp out there, but I doubted it would be under these sort of price categories like Zorloo or Topping.
