I wish someone would sell a portable amp like this one that would put out at least 850mW in class a and a bass boost like the Fiio E12 but again in class A.

TonyRizoAune has very bad battery life. Try Cayin C5. It’s AB, but very powerful and sounds awesome in high gain mode.

PhotoelectricI have the Cayin C5 n the Fiio E12. While both amps are great, the Aune B1 sounded cleaner but like you said, the battery life was horrible. The new improved B1s is suppose to be better but still doesn't have a bass boost and I feel I needed for some recordings. Oh, my Aune B1 broke also on the 3rd so I returned it.

TonyRizoI couldn't find any reviews of Aune B1s in regards to battery life, so I opted for Cayin C5. Maybe you want a Fiio A5. It's very clean, reasonably good battery life, has a bass boost. It won't have the same smoothness and warmth as C5, and most reviews describe it as strongly neutral, just amplifying a lot, while also having a super low noise floor. Reviews also say its sound signature is more like that of amplified E12A rather than E12 (different hardware), though with battery life of more like E12 than E12A.

PhotoelectricI had E12-A5 in my sight but a couple of reviews said it was not better sounding than the E12 and one said out right that it can't compete with original E12 which I have and love. Plus I really want a class A. Thanks for the help. It's very hard to a portable class A can put out at least 800mw plus a bass boost. I may have to bite the bullet and purchase the ifi Black label at 549.00....ouch!

TonyRizoA5 sounds different from E12. It outputs 800mW and has a bass boost. Could you get a used unit with a good return policy, perhaps, to try it out.

PhotoelectricI can always get it from Amazon and return it if I don't like it. However it's not a Class A?

TonyRizoIt's probably Class AB given the output power and battery life rating. http://www.fiio.net/en/products/59/parameters

PhotoelectricThank you, even though I wanted a 100% Class A, I may try it and return it if the sound is the same as my E12.

TonyRizoIt’s not the same. Reviews say it’s more like amplified E12A. It uses different processing chips for amplification.
