"The main 1.95-inch cutting edge is great for chopping" Really? "great" is the word we're going with here? For a 2" blade at the end of 5" of handle, in a piece that weights 11oz, handle included? Sorry if I'm a bit skeptical of that lol
It's an interesting little piece, I'll give it that. But for what it is (the steel, the size, the amount of work that goes into making it), at THAT price? I'm not seeing the value here, anyone wanna enlighten me?

KavikThe shape is very similar to the CRKT Kangee, which is the only reason I even clicked on the drop to look at it. I didn't realize it was a "mini" when I first clicked. The Kangee is a full sized T-hawk (tactical) made out of SK5 steel, which is very similar in both chemical composition and performance characteristics as the 1095 this TOPS offering is, but even at full size it's a buck less than this one will be if it gets down to its lowest price. I can't imagine fighting with this thing, and also can't imagine another potential use for it. I guess the sharpened top edge might be useful for getting under nails to pry them up high enough to get a hammer claw under 'em, but not much else that I can think of. Oh, and I've got at least 10 knives that are much better-suited for chopping than this little pip-squeak is. No value at all over here, and not sure anyone who finds value in it could enlighten you as to why they do.

BlueTomLol well, maybe someone will surprise us with some unexpected enlightenment (but I'm not holding my breath haha)
I was thinking it looks a lot like any of the generic little cheap tomahawk-ish "tactical hatchets" that can be found in any Chinese dollar store display case. I'm sure it's better quality than those, but not sure it's 10x more valuable

KavikLooking for enlightenment or ‘illumination’ on this? Hmmm.... where can you go for enlightenment on something strange or otherwise inexplicable in these trying post-truthy times?
I say we send it over to the big White House on Pennsylvania Avenue in the District of Columbia. Perhaps a closed door meeting, cabinet level, perhaps other specialists from Intelligence community, or Pentagon. We can let reporters ask Sarah Huckabee-Sanders for definitive enlightenment on this baffling cutlery item.
Axe-Throwing is legitimate sport and a relaxing and fulfilling hobby—both Scandinavian and Native American styles. I will go out on a limb and say that if The President or other high-ranking Advisor or Foreign Dignitary—as host or guests, respectively, aboard The President’s plane wanted to engage in a traditional axe-throwing contest (to get the creative juices flowing—much like golfing), that the smaller, more-compact dimensions of this TOPS Micro Hawk would make it somewhat safer than, say, the traditional full-size, double-bitted axes favoured in Scandinavian sport—at cruising speed and at an altitude of 35,000 feet.
Just my two cents [2.8 Canadian (which is rounded up to a nickel, as Canada has eliminated pennies from their currency)—new and ill-advised tariffs notwithstanding]...
I hope this helps. 🇺🇸💖🇨🇦

AxeguyLol I'm not sure yet it did, but it was entertaining at least
On a serious note, this looks to me like it would be closer to knife throwing skills than axe throwing, with it's size and balance

KavikI imagine it would. The length is shorter than most of my throwing knives. It’s an odd, stubby chunk of steel. May feel more as if you’re throwing a small plant with its root-ball a-swingin’....or maybe like throwing an oddly-shaped rock?
Might work roughing-out the fire circle seating (logs).

Axeguy*sigh* I haven't thrown a knife in years.....miss having a place with a yard where I could do that! Never threw an unpotted plant though hahahaha
Hmmmm, I'd be willing to bet the large Wind Runner from tops would chop and chip and rough out a seat in the log faster than this supposed "axe" would lol

KavikFor sure! Or even a knife with a broader flat spine you could bang on with a log to make your progress faster. I love the look of that Windrunner too, being partial to recurve/belly (on my knives, lol), but wish they had an XL as well. The small one would fall between my fingers, it’s so tiny!
I’m sorry to hear you let the throwing slide. It’s such a relaxing pastime. Sometimes there’s no choice. We’re giving up the house and downsizing so we’ll be losing our little range as well. Not a happy thought. I mean, most apartment buildings don’t have knife- or axe-throwing lanes...and it takes too much coordination to use the hallways... :(

AxeguyTechnically, they call that a standard and an XL in that set lol But I get what you're saying. Would make fit a pretty nice short machete.
Yeah, city living in apartment spaces sucks for so many hobbies. Sorry to hear you're losing your range as well 😢

KavikHaha, I was talking to a sales guy in a knife shop once, and he summed up knives (ok, "axes") like this perfectly: "Yep, most of these will never leave the bedroom."

KavikHave you considered the value to Tops in selling this? 1095 is really cheap, especially when you buy tons of it.

14themoneyUmmmmm, as the consumer I was worried more about the value to me, not the profit margin to the company. Unless you work for them, you're thinking about this backwards lol

KavikNo, I am retired. I have never worked for TOPS. I was totally agreeing with you in a rather backhanded manner. I can see No reason to spend more that $10 on such a product. Even then, I am not sure what I would do with it. It not heavy enough for a door stop. It's not suited for chopping. I can't even stick a throwing knife into a target 50% of the time. If I were to be attacked by a small sloth, it could find some utility.

KavikI forgot about the claws. Maybe an overgrown slug or and old sheep would fall victim to this mini meanie. Trying to find a good use for this brings a Steve Miller quote to mind, "....it just keeps getting tougher every day." If only Tattoo were still alive, maybe he could find a use for it.

14themoneyYou guys are missing the obvious - remember the Darwin Awards? Products like these, oh so appealing and covered in sharp edges.... easy to make a mistake, and whoops! there's one fewer mall ninja who's gonna have kids. We don't have to pay a cent for this, nor lift a finger. It's a service that TOPS provides on our behalf.
