well I received my knife........its a shit show. I literally feel wronged. Maybe i shouldn't write this while mad but o well. first off i got the one pictured above, Rockies edition. see the beautiful handle scales? well mine are not like that....they are slathered in gook and you cant see any patterning cuz of this wax garbage all over my handle. Now the handle screws are all mucked up and some look stripped can they not use the right sized allen key when putting them together? and lastly my edge looks nothing like the one pictured it has swirls along the whole edge comin up over a quarter inch from the relief. looks like someone spun a wire wheel up and down the edge of the blade. Im really let down by this knife. either tops sent you factory seconds or there quality has went to absolute ****. Im disgusted to see made in America bill-boarded on the side of this disaster. 70 plus for this? no never!

sir_puffs_alotOk so i tried to have another look at this thing after i had cooled off ;). I was gonna try to soap and water or alcohol scub the scales to see if that junk that they ruined my scales with comes off. my screw heads were filled with wax and i can not find an allen key that fits out of 3 diff sets of allen keys i have. I think the holes are just too mangled for one to fit correctly and im too nervous to try to turn one of the improperly fitting ones. So not being able to take the scales off and clean them, bad screws or q.c. or both, the gook stuck on them, and the bad blade grind..... this knife must go back. First time ive ever had to send anything back on mass-drop.... what do I do?

sir_puffs_alotFinal update. After 30 to 40 min of Windex scrubbing the scales with added alcohol i have some patterning. The greenish wax has thinned and the scales are much more grippy. While it looks nowhere near as clean as the photos I have gotten the knife into what is to me a condition in which I can, in good faith, keep the knife. While I am not thrilled about the swrils along the edge ruining a beautiful scandi grind i figure its a user knife and that can be addressed. All in all the knife did not come in a condition i would expect from a usa knife company but with some elbow grease and know how it can be a knife i can proudly own.

ArayHe shouldn't have even made an attempt to clean it up. Just take pictures, share them with the community, then contact massdrop for a refund. The end.
If you don't contact them direct, you can't expect them to monitor all discussion pages for complaints and hope they reach out to you
