Full-Tang 1095 Spear Point, Micarta Handle

Though it may not have received the same level of press as the infamous Tracker, the Tom Brown–designed Scout is plenty capable in the field. Use the 3-inch 1095 blade for piercing, slicing, chopping, you name it: it’s apt to take on lots of tasks whether used as your primary knife or as a backup. The full-tang blade is coated for wear resistance and surrounded by gray micarta scales for a solid grip in rain, muck, and heat. The shape, though a little unconventional, fills the hand well with three finger grooves in just the right spots—not to mention the jimping offers more security. For carry, you’ve got two options: Clip the kydex sheath to a belt or use the lanyard hole for neck carry.

Your complaint was an issue for me, for some time. I do believe early on, having exceptional deals was once Massdrops priority; but now that they have had a lot of success, it's no longer as high a priority. This is just my guess, I don't work for Massdrop and have no inside info, but seems how things have worked out. Instead, now if they can work a 'group buy' or larger purchase (aka mass-drop (shipment)) even if the price is on par with some of the other major retailers, they will do it. Do check shipping costs, especially if you live out of country, this can be a deal breaker, but Massdrop is very upfront about it. I'm confident that nearly everything they offer is is good deal, and every once in a while they get a really great deal. I've seen the quality and variety of their knives offered go from good to great. Some of us have suggested/recommended specific makers and Massdrop has pursued those, and succeeded more than not. What I feel I get from Massdrop that I don't get from other outlets is a 'relationship' with other members and Massdrop in general. Many of these comments are read by other members and folks that work at Massdrop, they often even reply, that's pretty cool and you don't get that from Amazon or most other large retailers. Also, the reviews are honest. I know this for certain, because I have been very critical of some products and even some issues with Massdrop (like not including proper pictures, or listing details, or wrong details, or listing an MSRP price that is higher than what the maker is listing it for on their own website). There have been times I've recommended NOT buying a specific product because there is a better product at nearly the same price. This is rare but has happened; regardless, you will not get ripped off here, these folks know what they are doing and they are doing a great job. I can say with complete conviction, Massdrop has steadily improved, takes our input seriously, and in all my checking on old criticisms they have not altered or deleted any of my critical reviews/comments. I'm now to the point that I know what the right price is for many items, but still do spot check prices now and then, and they are typically on par with others, and occasionally much better. So I guess I'm saying its not always about the lowest price, its total value, which includes the buying experience. You can frequently read comments on Massdrop that others just don't share, like my comments right here. :D
