I cannot believe people buy this knife that would have faded into the hall of shame if not for that B movie. Seriously, what is it good for? Paper weight? Few knives are as polarizing.

This isn't even a deal.... these are $175 at Chicago Knifeworks all day, every day. Come on, Massdrop... what's the point of selling a huge bundle of them if they're not any cheaper than buying a single one? I miss the early days when we actually got some killer deals. Now it's just retail price but with a cool 'massdrop exclusive' colorway - not that this is even a massdrop exclusive color... but most things are like that.

It's a movie knife. In the real world, it's a prybar with an edge, that isn't actually very good at cutting things. Might be ok at chopping smaller pieces of wood, thanks to the fat wedge that is its grind, but a hatchet will serve you better in this task, will probably weight less, and will also out-perform the tracker as a knife. The "saw" on the back of this thing is a joke, and will take you roughly the lifespan of a Galapagos tortoise to saw though any tree branch more than an inch in diameter. Usefully, this prybar also comes with lanyard hole, so you can tie a bit of paracord to it and use it as a highly effective boat anchor.

Yeah, it looks interesting. But having used one (that I did not purchase) for actual bushcraft tasks, it's a terrible knife. I suppose it's durable, but it's also awful at, you know, cutting things.

bobtheaxolotlI’m always tempted to buy it because of its incredible look, but never pull the trigger because I can’t imagine using it for anything. It’s not a knife, it’s not a hatchet, it’s not a saw...it’s just something badass and cool to look at! : ). I guess it would be great to baton with.

Having seen this in person, I have to say it is as much a piece of absurdist humor as it is a tool.

fhoodI've tried using one for various bushcrafting tasks. Fortunately not one that belongs to me, though. It belongs to a friend that did some work at Tom Brown's school, and Brown gifted them a knife in return. The thing has quarter inch thick steel coupled with a low grind, meaning that the profile is a fat wedge that isn't actually good at cutting. It can do some chopping and light splitting, but any camp hatchet, even a bad one, will work better. It's ground like a splitting maul. Also, the "saw" crudely cut into the spine is worthless. The extremely basic saw on my Victorinox Swiss army knife bested it easily in speed. The abrupt change in grind halfway down the blade hinders any kind of performance in cutting with the recurved section of the blade, as well. A simple $15 Mora will serve you much better at nearly any bushcraft task, aside from, say, batoning.

I think the $35 rocky mountain tread handle upgrade is actually a downgrade, give how many folks have complained about handle hot spots when using it, but that won't matter if you're only buying it to add to your safe queen collection.

I received my parcel. Unfortunately, it appears I need to pay $46 additional dollars to pick it up? What in the world could that price be? Customs? I've never had customs THAT expensive.

Do you and the folks in Europe not have Ebay? Lol just fing the buy it now listings who offer free shipping but make sure you check in the fi e print they do not specify shipping within the US only, hell I own a few hundred mid to higher end production knives and majority of them come from Ebay even the authorized dealers sites on Ebay are sometimes the best deals you are going to find and usually Amazon is decent as well.... I a bit if a steel snob and an edgesnob so as of lately i am having trouble deciding between my next $3-400 knife or a Japanese water stone costing about the same lol

Aumank33Yeah we have eBay but sometimes the shopping costs can be pretty off putting too. Higher end stuff we generally don't have trouble getting. It's the $20-50 EDC knives that a lot of people have trouble getting. Instead of being a knife you can throw around, you end up paying $100 for a $30 knife with markup sometimes.

You're right guys thanks for pointing this out - The Black Linen Micarta and Rocky Mountain Tread images were flipped. The images are correct now. Apologies for the confusion @DougFLA123 @Trafo @warchyld67
