I like seeing kitchen-related products on here, but this deal is mediocre. You can get this identical bamboo board at Home Goods/TJ Maxx for same or less price every day of the week. Get a good deal on an Epicurean or John Boos cutting board, and I'll buy in.

http://www.amazon.com/Totally-Bamboo-2-Sided-Poly-Boo-Cutting/dp/B00C1KAUV6/ 17.99 with Prime, pretty much the exact same product.

I understand the board is slightly different and has the groove (Which I'll agree, is super helpful for juicy things), I'm just trying to say that this deal isn't all too great.
I appreciate the effort Massdrop is putting into getting deals for us, but I think Massdrop needs to start demanding lower cuts. The whole basis of this website is we get great deals for buying in huge quantities. 30 isn't a huge quantity, negotiate a price for a 50 tier and we'll start seeing real deals.
Regardless, thanks Andy.

NickTompkHey Nick,
We agree it's not a stellar deal, some products we can undercut others by 20-30%, and other products are 10% or less.
We're just getting started in the Kitchen-products area and as we build better connections with manufacturers and distributors, we'll certainly be able to get better pricing (and offer larger quantities). Each successful buy typically leads to getting more "credibility" with the wholesalers leading to better pricing. Despite this, we always do standard price comparisons online for the products and never list them if they're cheaper on other mainstream sites (i.e. Amazon and others).
Ultimately as a group buying service we act on behalf of the community, and have no real ulterior motives beyond that. We hold 0 inventory in this product, so if it's cheaper elsewhere, or if we list the product and then Amazon drops their price to price-match, all the better for the community- we've served our purpose of getting the product to your door at a lower cost (albeit in a different manner).
The discussions that we generate here are useful to everyone as they can read through and decide, "Is a juice groove in a cutting board worth $4? Or should I even buy a $20 cutting board or should I get an expensive Maple Endgrain one like Strelok suggested?". If the decision is to sign up for this one, great, if enough people join in we'll get the drop done. If not, on to the next buy!

jasonfCan you share the link to the cutting board you're referring to? Unless you have Amazon Prime it's $6+ for shipping. Anything under $35 you have to pay for shipping.
Edit: I don't see it listed on Amazon.
