I just received my watch and it's beautiful, but I do have one problem with it. When walking or turning my wrist you can clearly hear the movement move, which isn't the case with my other watches like my rolex (on this watch you can only hear it when it's right up to your ear). Is this common for the miota movement and/or cheaper watches or do I have a faulty watch?
jamil.bmy travisleon does that too. a review i read comparing the miyota movement to the comparable ETA one did say that the miyota is noisier. so i think its just par for the course that the automatic winding weight on miyotas is just noisy.
jamil.bIt is common to hear the Miyota 9015 movement more than say a Rolex, since the rotor only winds in one direction. However the Travisleon I received is excessively noisy as compared to my very similar 40mm Erroyl dress watch with an identical Miyota 9015. I have contacted support about the issue.
jamil.bHi! Recieved my few weeks ago, couldn't complain about movement noise when walking, it is bearly audible, only when it is close to ear. Only one thing, which irritates me - big stain on watch rotor. Contacted the support, waiting for an update from them.
FarragoHey guys. glad you guys like the watch. You are right that Miyota 9015 is known for its sound from the winding rotor. These are more evident in models with transparent see through caseback. If the movement is housed in a thick diver's watch case, you won't hear the rotor winding. It's brand's watch case construction is unique be it Rolex, Panerai or IWC. Please be assured that they are all in good working condition. :)
Racecog56Understand you concern about the "noise", however, to me that's the beauty of all things mechanical. to see the rotor turn behind the clear caseback and to hear the beating of the watch. :)
