Mine arrived today and I've been giving them a go for about an hour. I also have the XR500's on hand to do a comparison. The RF100's are good but I'm leaning more towards the XR500's sound. The bass on the RF100's is not as overpowering as it is on the XR500. For some this could be a plus. But for me I like the bigger bass sound on the XR500's. I do find myself trying to add more treble and mid's to XR500's just to balance out the sound. But for talk and sports radio the XR500 are outstanding.
The XR500's gets louder and goes a lot deeper. I have to turn the RF100's to max volume to match the volume half way up on the XR500's. The RF100's do have enough bass to be quite enjoyable. It just doesn't compare to the bass on the XR500's. The bass on the XR500's are somewhat of a marvel to be honest.
Now to things that I don't like about the RF100's. The earhook's on the RF100's are driving me crazy already. It's a rubber cover that goes over the wire coming from the earphones. It twists and turns in all directions making them very cumbersome to get around your ear. It also makes it a little difficult to get a good seal on the earphones. I don't have this problem with XR500's.
These are decent for the price but to me the XR500's are still the winner. So I'll be giving these to my daughter and keeping the XR500's.

SlimTWhat about using it without the ear hook? Is that possible? If it is, does it drop a lot or maybe wont stay in your ear at all?

Mayora13It has a wire underneath the rubber covers which are acting as earhooks. The rubber cover can be removed but if you remove them the wires will still be there kind of dangling and exposed. They don't really feel secure in the ears without the ear hooks.

Mayora13Without the "hooks" the wire just loops over your ears and dangles behind your head, it works about the same either way, which isn't that great for me personally.
