SithYeWhen I went to place my order for the base set and the novelties the novelties were sold out. By the time I got them out of the cart the base set was sold out too.

TelFiREMT3 is PBT so we won't be able to do the green on purple legends. I know reverse dye-sub is a thing, but not for MT3 that I know of, at present anyway.

TelFiREA friend explained it to me. Apparantly the moulds are re-used for pretty much every GMK set and likewise for SP sets etc. Changing the moulds would be too expensive.

TelFiREFor novelties they do. For regular old alphas and shift/enter/backspace/etc modifiers they don't.
That said, part of the expense is just production in general. If you compare a GMK or SP doubleshot ABS set with say a $50 ABS set from Amazon or WASD you'll be surprised at the difference in quality.
I only spent $89 on my Amazing Chocolatier set from SP, and it was worth every penny. If this were to drop again in SA profile I'd be all over it. I do love GMK, but as i said earlier in the thread, this seems to lose something in cherry profile.

LevelSteamI understand the difference in quality and I'm willing to pay for it, hell I'm willing to pay for no difference in quality and just looking baller =p I wonder what it would cost to do a whole set of centered legends in GMK. It seems like it would be worthwhile if they don't have to re-do legend molds, because then they could use it for a lot of future sets. Centered looks so much better..

TelFiREPart of the draw of GMK molds though is that they're the original Cherry Corp molds, so if they change the font to large/centered not only would it be *very* expensive for them (and by extension us), they would lose a big part of what makes them special.
Now, DSA troubled minds would be possible and wouldn't have nearly as long of a wait as SA, nor would it be the massive undertaking that retooling all of the GMK molds would be. However, this is thesiscamper's set so ultimately the decision of where it goes is his to make.

LevelSteamI'm not suggesting they get rid of the old one. I get the appeal of that. But, it's ugly to me and they should make a modern profile/mold IMO :P
DSA seems to be having a pretty long wait these days too. But I would also love this in that profile. Honestly, I like almost all the profiles more than Cherry. But at the end of the day I love the colors and would probably buy them in any profile.
