22 weeks now and still performing like new “temperature wise”. I use It with a thermaltake core p3 and it does not seem to accumulate dust but i don’t have carpet either. Overall was a great buy, very silent (has different speed modes). Only wish I could control It with software and not Have to press the buttons which could be an inconvinience Depending on how your set up is. Colors are nice and good buy, but the new version seems much nicer.
Can we just get the Floe already :/
Is this the Floe version? The drop is worded for the standard but the pic shows the Floe.
jerick70
Pics definitely show the Water 3.0 version, not Floe.
Am I just too concerned with looks or is the logo on the waterblock terrible looking?
Ich852
Terrible. Instant no for me.
Could we get the one with the premium edition fans please? Just bought the 5 pack of the fans. I would like the cooler to match.
I guess the community has spoken. Zero joins as of now. WE WANT THE FLOE!!
Would join this in no time if it included a 280mm radiator... Thermaltake Floe Dual Riing RGB 280 TT Premium Edition PWM TR4 LGA2066 Ready AIO Liquid Cooling System CPU Cooler CL-W167-PL14SW-A https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074ZQXBBM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_1XDDAbQHERGWP
I mean i would like to comment here what i think of the Thermaltake 240 watercooling, but it seems like DHL in the Netherlands lost my package.................... It says its delivered but i don't have it or my neighbours. I contacted DHL, but they say i have to contact massdrop. And here i am, i have send a message to massdrop. Now hopefully i get my package............
hoen2009
Did you email customer service? FedEx lost me a monitor to the state of NJ, and Massdrop refunded me. Make sure you actually reach out to customer service.
Okay, so I have a 7600k and am going to upgrade to a phanteks p400s I'm debating on going for the cheaper dark rock pro 3, or this/ the 360. Thoughts? Is this overkill? Should I just save my money?
tyler555
This is overkill for a 7600k, even with some overclocking, though you might still want to consider it since it would allow you to really let the fans run slowly and quietly without compromising on thermals, though the Dark Rock Pro 3 is plenty enough for that CPU. Just check the TDP of whatever cooler and CPU you want to cool and make sure that the cooler has a higher thermal capacity than the CPU can output heat.
If you have a AM4 Slot/Ryzen processor I would stay far away from Tt for anything software controlled (I'm not sure if the controller included is software controlled or not). I had to send back a set of Riing premium fans because they would not spool up past about 25% nor yield control of the RGB settings because of incompatibility with my Ryzen 1700. I didn't do any research to determine if these will work or not, but if you fit in that category I definitely would.
P.S.: If anyone wants a scarcely used Deepcool Captain 360mm AIO setup (that is also not AM4 compatible hence me no longer using it) including 3 fans let me know. I'll let it go for $60+shipping (actual) in CONUS.

I ended up biting the bullet and going with a elaborate custom loop with D5 pump/dual bay reservoir, & dual radiators (a 360mm and a 140mm, both 25mm thick with 3x fans on the 360 & push/pull on the 140mm). Shortly thereafter I added a water cooled GPU and a second pump, second res., & third radiator (60mm) along with 2 extra fans in push/pull. All told it cost a small fortune, but most of the components will last me a long time (save for the water blocks, which will need replacement with new CPU/GPU and the pumps if and when they fail-hence the redundancy).
Another reason to avoid this, even if you have a "compatible" mobo/USB chipset is that it isn't controlled by the BIOS/UEFI. Consider the (granted, unlikely) situation that you left your gaming PC on overnight or while you were at work or school and a hung/runaway process occurs. If the OS (or parts of it) is incapable of properly monitoring and/or controlling the fans, your CPU could sit there and burn up while it plods along at idle speed.
If the fans are controlled by the BIOS, nothing that fails at the software or OS levels will affect the cooler's ability to moniter and respond to rising heat levels. Sadly, this thing has an, albeit low, chance of failing at the software or OS level. I spent too much of my money on my CPU to take a chance that Windows will avoid failing, and FAR too much to bet on Tt's drivers and software.
The last one of these I owned lasted for about 5 years (of almost continuous usage) before the pump failed. Upon failure, muffled quiet crackling sounds and CPU temps pinned at 100C indicated that coolant boil-off was preventing a further increase in temps. Replaced with air cooling at the time since I don't run a very intense overclock, but if you want to push further I do still believe closed-loop water coolers like this one are the right solution. Just... might be worth setting a BIOS CPU temp alarm if available, or at least a background temp monitoring service for whichever OS you use. It took me a while to realize the pump had failed at all, since at first I thought the strange sounds were from a cable hitting a fan.
Just completed. 🤡

Hello Everyone, Just to clarify these are compatible with AM4 socket processors and it has been updated in the specs section of the drop. They will come with the proper brackets to support the new AM4. Cheers. @SomeMexicanTechyGuy @PlayBright @NotSoUnique
Is this compatible with AMD AM4 socket?
Load 3 more comments
I doubt it.
Elsid
Someone confirmed it already.
Thank you. Today received. Packed perfectly. Cooling works well. Massdrop +

Does it have the AM4 brackets?
PlayBright
Yes
Can somebody confirm that this drop is for the old 3.0 version? (ugly non-rgb pump?)
Thanks

Yes, but on CES 2017 they presented a new version of 3.0 RGB water cooler - in this version not only the fans are RGB, but also the pump itself. If you look at the picture they currently have listed on massdrop - it still has their old non-rgb pump. I just wanted to confirm that this massdrop is for old version, and if so - I am not interested and will wait for the newer version to become available.

Yes, I can confirm that this is the ugly-ass version of it.
Is this maybe still using an old description? Does this now come with an AM4 bracket?
Schnibs
It comes with an AMD bracket, but the documentation is wholly unclear as to whether or not it'll fit the AM4. I'm assuming that TT will offer an AM4 bracket as a separate part you can purchase from their webpage. That or wait until TT v4.0 (3.5? whatever they are going to call the upgraded version) comes out, as more than likely it will come with the newer brackets.
I am a fan of these coolers only issue is I like push/pull setups so I guess I would have to go with a y adapter for each set of fans. Wonder if TT sells the fans separately though I prefer cougar fans due to isolators at each screw hole
Jrumann59
In theory, you can add up to 4 fans to the controller. Although, I'm not sure if they will be able to properly control the speed, etc. Depends on the fan. I'm sure if you bought more of the fans TT uses with this unit it may work.
I am glad I looked in here, you can get the 240 at Scan Bolton for £107 ( LN69299 ), no waiting and easy return
Still waiting on an update... product still hasn't shipped yet?

Why are you saying he's wrong if you don't have the product 🤷
DeathValleyCow
A friend of mine does.
So I get an update today, that due to mfg delays, they can't supply us with coolers until April 17th. And yet, Amazon, Newegg, and other retailers have hundreds of them already and have more coming in... ????
Methinks someone is being disingenuous here, not exactly sure who....

Sure, except Massdrop isn't doing a single thing here with regard to shipment. These are all drop shipped by the vendor or by the reseller. Massdrop just sends them a shipping manifest. Manufacturers and resellers that are warehousing all this for Massdrop (whom in this case is nothing but a middleman), has tons of resources for shipping. Otherwise, they wouldn't be able to ship out their product. Drop shipping is 100% part of a reseller/mfg business. Otherwise they wouldn't offer it, and Massdrop wouldn't even be possible.
So they 100% have the time and resources to ask which model version we'd be getting.
Needless to say, way to Necro this thread, since I received it months ago. You're getting the old v2.0 models by the way.
AddictedGamerSP
good point. If they are indeed getting drop-shipped it is a tad ridiculous.
I did a review on this, definitively one of the good LCS out there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ybSAcia8dY
RGB gives you 5c lower temps!

Danthrax
Only if you set the color to blue. Setting it to red will raise your temps but also make the system go faster.

This has been confirmed by internet scientist. REAL NEWS
I thought that there were supposed to be some/any updates here in the discussion... Lol No?
the logos on the pump looks horrible D:
AerArer91
Yes, they do, of course that's one of the bigger changes with the new version they previewed at CES 2017.
Need some AM4 support for the Ryzen builds.

the models listed for the part you specified are the coolers that didn't have support for am3, since the mounting mechanism is the same from am3->am4
johnny304
That isn't true, they just didn't have support for the terrible tension bracket mounting system, they are still perfectly compatible with the AM3 sockets, you would just remove the tension system, and screw the mounting posts into the backplate. This is the same with AM4.
Looks like a 2 year warranty: http://my.thermaltake.com/csWarranty.aspx#4
I wonder if they purposefully timed this drop after they have already announced the replacement for these units to get rid of stock.
