Still do not understand why it cannot be shipped to Spain (2nd time I have asked the question)...I'm familiar with knives law and this is 100% legal...
jose.evickaI'm not sure, hopefully support@massdrop.com can help with the issue?

Tactical_KeychainsGot the reply from Massdrop: "Thank you for reaching out with your inquiry. Some particular drops for both knives and items that contain batteries don't allow shipments to some countries. While we do everything we can to ship to as many countries as possible, but we're not always able to include every country for every drop. Factors that go into determining shipping eligibility include vendor set limitations and import restrictions for items such as knives or batteries. I do apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused and please feel free to let me know if there's anything else that I can be of assistance with in the mean time"
...Which means they do not check specific/country local laws and just do a "one fits all restriction policy"
Not very smart -business wise- in my opinion...shame on Massdrop.

jose.evickaI'm Australian, and we have some of the most restrictive knife laws in the world, and MD ships this to AU.
Where're you from? I suspect MD probably just goes on how many seizures they've had...

yiriI'm from Spain, and a knife collector (very familiar with the Knife laws in Spain as well as other countries). If they had issues, it must have been with double edged knives, or automatic switchblades (the only forbidden items in Spain)...anything else is legal here (as a collector or aficionado you may own a Katana, or any other sword, and it is legal to keep them as long as you keep them home) I have emailed to Massdrop a link with the Spanish government page regulation/law text, hope they will read it!!
jose.evickaIt's near impossible to look into and interpret laws for each item/drop on Massdrop. Hopefully they return with a real response and actually look into this. If all else fails, I might have what your looking for on my website.

Tactical_KeychainsAgreed, that's the reason why I stated Massdrop apply "one size fits all policy" which is nonsense business wise... Thanks, appreciate your follow-up. Please let me know, just want to buy the TUKK at a reasonable price and get it delivered over here...
jose.evickaI'm always here, try to check in a few times a day when a drop is going on.
I don't personally think Massdrop is doing anything wrong business wise. I have 3 prices for shipping on my website, when in reality shipping to Europe could be cheaper than shipping to Australia, but the time to dissect each price down to the penny, then add in for a label, packaging, envelope, service fees, labor, etc. That doesn't make sense for a business to waste days/weeks. We don't make any money on shipping. Sometimes we lose money, some times we make 20 cents. That's the cost of doing business. Same applies to looking up each country, state, county, city for laws to ship a $40 product to. Pay a person $20hr to look up all those laws and you are now into this for thousands of dollars to maybe sell 20 knives internationally. Then you have different types styles of knives. If they have 250 knives on this site, how many cities are there in the world, etc. Hopefully that explains it a little better from the business side. I know it doesn't seem fair, but it's about all a business can do.
As for reasonable price, here is an interesting post for you I posted a few days ago - https://www.instagram.com/p/BJqWiLAjQpg/?taken-by=tacticalkeychains

Tactical_KeychainsBesides a knife collector I'm a businessman, former multinational Ex. so I'm familiar with pricing, distribution, labour cost, Manufacturing, quality cost etc...so, appreciate your post, but maybe suitable for someone else...I appreciate/value your excellent work in a highly competitive environment, and this work has a price, no question...a different thing is to try to buy cheaper the same product...which was the meaning of my earlier statement... Massdrop is just a middle man with limited added value on the distribution chain, so in my opinion they should maximize and be familiar with knife regulations especially when there are knives drops every week...it is just a one time investment, not that they need to check laws everyday This is a business decision, and they have the right to not make it, no question, and I have also the right to complain ;)
jose.evickaPerhaps a Massdrop employee might chime in, I can't speak on their behalf. @JonasHeineman
I don't ship to many countries, is that bad business? I don't see it as bad business, but that's my opinion.

Tactical_KeychainsYes, I understand... Unlike Massdrop you own 100% of the value chain. Whether it is good or bad to not ship to many countries, that's something time/experience will tell you (it would be pedantic from my side to state you are wrong). It is said that companies have to diversify customer portfolio, and so does risk...but also that limited resources have to be used wisely :)
jose.evicka20% of sales are international, even up to 30% on some of my Kickstarter projects. So that is a large piece of the pie. Lately there have been so many copies of my things made, that I have had to tighten shipping restrictions to exclude countries like China, South Korea, etc.

Tactical_KeychainsNice number ;) That's one of the problems when you made high quality/fancy items...they are copied...and China is, well, you know...(if we ever meet I will tell you what happened to us when we set our first manufacturing facility over there).
jose.evickahaha yes. I've even had someone purchase a Chinese WTF (Wrench that fits) copy and then turn around and come after me for a refund because it was junk and bent the first time it was used. That was interesting.

jose.evickaHi @jose.evicka -- Sorry that we can't ship this to your country. It's not a question of customs; we ship to every country that our carrier will deliver to. There is a current list of countries, which we're still working to expand, along with more info available in the FAQ: https://helpdesk.massdrop.com/hc/en-us/articles/216782468-Can-Massdrop-ship-knives-internationally-

JonasHeinemanThanks for your reply. Taking a look at the country list (I'm familiar with a lot of those countries customs policies/local laws) and the listed reasons why Massdrop do not ship, I still do n to understand why you do not ship to Spain...anyway, your call...

Tactical_KeychainsAmazing...I guess you had a good laugh with that one... I looks like Massdrop will not look at this... I would like to thank you for your follow up anyway...Keep the good work!! :)
jose.evickaThank you! Sorry there is no shipping for you, but I do ship to Spain on my website.

JonasHeinemanMaybe you need to look at your carrier then, or at least the one shipping knives for you. I'm always disappointed when you have drops on fixed blades and it says you can't ship to Australia (mora for example). What a joke as I can buy the same knife off a hundred other US websites and get it posted here.
Scotty84I am the person shipping these from my garage; but I just pack and apply the label, I don't make the label. As for hundred other US websites, I really hope you aren't talking about my product - TUKK
