I just received my shipping information. Can anyone recommend a phono-amp or speakers that they plan on using with this turntable?

samantha.cannadyI use http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00008B5PC?psc=1 for a pre-amp currently. It works quite well.

samantha.cannadyThe ART DJPRE II is very highly regarded in the vinyl community for people new to the hobby. Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000AJR482/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2NO0ZLL65YNCK&coliid=I9N6LGH7NX7J4
Alternatively, if you want to continue to support U-Turn they just recently released their own preamp designed with the Orbit in mind. Link: http://store.uturnaudio.com/products/pluto-phono-preamp
As far as speakers, I've had the Pioneer SP-BS22's for a few months and I love them. Great starter-speakers that will definitely do the Orbit justice. They frequently go on sale for around $98 for the pair if you're willing to wait. PaulsBoutiqueBut if someone were to only be using a turntable > preamp > speakers . . . wouldn't they need to be hooked up to powered speakers? I love the look of these Pioneers, but these look like they're passive. I could be wrong . . . i'm still trying to figure out the rest of my setup as well.

PaulsBoutiqueYou hit it spot on! I have the DJPRE II and the Andrew Jones/ Pioneer Speakers in conjunction with the U-turn. I bought the U-turn when it was still on Kickstarter. They work miracles together for the price!

MegaMutoyou would need an amplifier with those speakers. Something like this http://www.amazon.com/SMSL-50Wx2-TDA7492-Amplifier-Adapter/dp/B00F0H8TOC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1435586947&sr=8-1&keywords=SMSL+SA50+50Wx2 with banana plugs on your speaker wire to plug them in.
