For ultralight I personally like the FireFly Ultralight Headlamp. It works well and it not too bright. (I prefer dimmer headlamps that don't kill your night vision) It is no frills, and definitely ultralight (1oz)
This one may work for some people, but I thought other Ultralight backpackers may want to be aware that lighter options are available.

SawatchFactoryI have not. When I was in the market I was looking at the FireFly vs Petzl e+lite. I wen with the FireFly because of the seemingly more manageable head strap and the higher lumens? Where did you get your specs from? Amazon has 26 lumens at 30 hours for the e+lite and 40 lumens at 30 hours for the FireFly. Also the FireFly has a strobe mode. (Red light/high/low/strobe)
I would be interested in a comparison, but I never found any in my research. From what I have read the FireFly loses its brightness as the battery drains. I don't know how the e+lite fares and my experiences with the FireFly are limited to two backpacking trips.
chrise524I've got an e+lite, but an older model (the strap isn't retractable). I love that it is super lightweight and I can wear it and forget that it's there. But, it doesn't throw a lot of light. Mine does have a strobe mode, in both red and white. It's handled years of abuse. But, if I'm car camping, I want something brighter.
