These are much better than the regular UCO StormProof....burn longer and I've found them to be get for starting wet tinder, etc.

CampinSteveI read some reviews that suggested that the striker strip and o-rings on the case ares the weak points of this system. They complained that the strips won't light the matches if not completely dry and that they wear out quickly. The watertight container apparently will leak if immersed in icy cold water owing to o-ring stiffness at low temps a la Challenger disaster. From that I would possibly suggest people include standard kitchen match striker strips in their kit, sealed separately, and perhaps using petroleum grease on the o-rings to aid proper sealing at low temps. Edit: I shouldn't have recommended petroleum grease as a supplement- that can damage o-rings. Silicone grease would be better probably.
