Had a few problems, first the wire going in to the light just disconected- that got fixed i opened it and got it stuck in there and added some epoxy for it to hold. The second problen is the big one, probobly the death of this light, the battery just doent hold charge i can charge it to full and the battery is empty very soon (like a day maybe) without even being in use, i would have used batteries but it kinda defeats the point it gets heavy and non rechargable batteries are not realy for me anymore.
To be honest the light was fine when it worked, kind of sad to lose it.
It's meh ... Feels cheap, headband is not elastic; it's Velcro. So, it doesn't wrap compactly like all my other headlamps can. I do like how I can dial in the brightness on the main light. Unfortunately, that functionality is not available for the red light and as someone mentioned before, it needs to be a bit brighter. I wouldn't take this on any of my backcountry trips or climbs. It's fine around the house or garage, in the yard at night or during a power outage.
I have several head lamps. One in the car for emergencies and one in my go bag. I use this headlamp almost every morning and evening when walking my dog. The lighting is perfect for that application. It has a wide beam that is easily adjustable for brightness. I also like the able to adjust the angle of the light without "notches" that never seem to fall where I want them. It's a great light and I definitely recommend it.
Overall the UCO Vapor+ is a good headlamp. You can go lighter but there may be a sacrifice in comfort, and this headlamp is very comfortable to wear while hiking. The red-light is good for shelter/stealth situations, and the main lamp turns way dow or way up, depending on your needs, and the design is very intuitive and easy to operate.
My one negative would be that there isn't a way to lock the headlamp in the off position. Recently I took a trip and had the headlamp fully charged in my hip-belt pocket. Apparently somehow, and unbeknownst to me the headlamp turned on while I was hiking and the battery drained. When I needed it that night in camp it was dead. Luckily I had my cell phone for a (poor) backup and was able to charge my UCO while i slept. Going forward I remove the battery before packing it away for the day, but that's an extra step in the whole process, which is sub-optimal.
I've used several headlamps this is by far the best for me. The smooth linier switch goes from 0 to full on, the very low is great when you are adjusted to the dark there is a full range up to super bright plus the red light. The headband fits well, I like everything about this excellent product.
