How does this compare to the FX Audio DAC-X6? Would this be decent enough to temporarily drive my HD6XX until I can afford a Little Dot MK3 and an accompanying DAC? Hit some rough times so I need a cheap solution for now.

ChrisGoesPewPewHonestly I would get the x6 so you can use it as a dac with the MK3. The x6 will still be useful even when the amp part isn't being utilized.

ChrisGoesPewPewThe fx audio x6, is a waste of money. It seems like a great deal cuz of the price but it has some major flaws. The dac part of the unit works ok. Everything else is trash. The headphone output which is controlled by a volume nob on the front of the unit is VERY QUIET, it needs to have its maximum 8 to 12 times louder, while having a higher resolution volume adjustment. Secondly, plugging a headphone in doesn't automatically shut off the analog ouputs. Because of this there is serious GND noise, hissing and pulsation. The unit looks great but ultimately you will regret buying it after a few days. Save some more money and get something in the 110$ range, you will be much happier!
