Got my UGQ Zeppelin the other day and did a trail run. It was indoors at about 63 degrees so not much of a test on the temp rating. Yet it was nice and toasty on my back side. I liked the fabric and the loft was a thing of beauty. I reached underneath to check for gaps and found one but no worries as the draft collar was blocking the gap. So I am digging the draft collars. I could have used a little more width.

I do not own any UGQ equipment. But I am seriously considering joining this drop. UGQ goes beyond "being proud of their product". If you have seen their SUBSTANTIVE responses to questions in this drop as well as on the hammockforum you will see they are FIRST rate in honestly answering questions and in customer service. So much so that after dismissing purchasing this drop I am at the edge of squeezing the trigger (I really want to DIY my GE UQ). Massdrop decides where to post the drop. Furthermore, in my experience most folks have the personal capability to assess the weight and trade-offs themselves and don't need the UL gestapo to police their decisions or be hyper vigilant for them. After all isn't it HYOH?

Nice product, but 17% off is not much of a deal.

Can anyone offer me some advice. I am contrasting this with the Incubator Econ 20.
This quilt is 1oz heavier but thats because of an extra oz down which can't be a bad thing. This one is 190+32=$223 whereas the Incubator is 150+60=$210 - basically the same price. This quilt has the option of 850fp down and an overstuff. The Incubator had a long option (I am 6 feet 4 inches so that's useful) but no 850fp down option. The incubator will probably ship sooner.
Does the Incubator have the draft collars that this one has? Do I need the long quilt given my height?
Advice appreciated. Having trouble deciding. I brought the MD top quilt last month so looking foward to a better sleep system over my current bag + mat combo.

landcruiserguyIf you've decided to spend the money on UQ, you're already making a good choice. I think you'd be happy with either, so don't stress too much. Both quilts are priced great.
I guess you should make your decision on fill and length. If you sleep warm, maybe the incubator is a better option. However, if you have solid headgear and plan on using a pillow, you might not need that extra length. I currently have a 20° revolt, shorter than both, I believe, and I haven't had an issue at all.
I searched the HG website and their Facebook page, and seems as though the Econ has a draft collar, but I'm not sure.
Either way, I don't think you can make a "wrong" choice here. Best of luck.
SkylerButlerDitto on the main points... I'll add that I own some gear from both and have zero complaints. My winter TQ is UGQ and my 3/4 quilt is from HG (add a UGQ tarp kicker). I have the HG phoenix 40 with two ounces of down added. I've been down to 37 and been very comfortable (I do use a very small foam pad in the foot box). The difference in weight between 850fp and and 800fp (for this comparison) will be like an ounce give or take a half. Given how close they are in most facets it would come down to aesthetics to me. HG would most likely ship quicker but you would have to email them to confirm...

This thing looks huge...anyone know the pack-down dimensions?
Seems massive to be considered for ultra-light hiking....thoughts? Anyone have one and used it on multi-day hikes with pack-weight less than 40lbs?

Thanks for the packed dimensions. What is the packed weight?

AlabamaDanDepending which quilt you select, the pack weight will be the quilt weight listed in the description, plus .9oz for the stuff sack. Many choose to just stuff the quilt in the bottom of theit pack and save the .9oz.

This was voted in by the ultralight community? Both the Hammock Gear Phoenix 20 and the Enlightened Equipment Revolt 20 weigh HALF as much as this at a similar price. Wtf
IDK, Mass Drop determines product placements.

UGQPaulThis right here. Don't blame UGQ for where Massdrop puts the products they're working hard to sell. If I have the money this is a sure buy no hesitation (waiting on the Massdrop Quilt to be fulfilled). I don't need super crazy ultralight. A 20° system (this UQ and the Massdrop Quilt) weighs in at 3 pounds 0.13 ounces not including the hammock or tarp. That's for one of the most comfortable sleeping systems around. In my opinion the comfort of hammocks is well worth the weight compared to ground sleeping. If you want to be crazy ultralight get a cuben tarp or tent, quilt, and the lightest mat you can. Just know you'll be paying the price of the quilt for the mat, triple (or more) for the cuben shelter, and the cost of this quilt (or more) on a quilt to go over you.

New to hammock camping as well. I have an eno double nest i bought a few years back for picnics and day hikes and was thinking of incorporating this as a sleep system when I go camping. Will the under quilt fit with the eno double? also I plan on using this in late fall. Will it be able to stand the cold nights in Canada? thanks

CptnCedricThis should work on any gathered end hammock. On the Eno Double, it won't come all the way up the sides, but it will definitely cover where you are. I can't speak to the Zeppelin specifically, but my experience with cottage vendors is their ratings tend to be conservative. That is, a 20°F quilt will be plenty comfortable down to 20°F for most. Someone who tends to sleep warm can usually take it colder and still remain comfortable. Someone who tends to sleep cold will probably still be okay, but may opt for overstuff to add some thermal insurance. It can take some testing to determine what your needs are.

The good news is this is a great price on a great piece of gear, and if it doesn't work out for you, you should have no problem selling it and trying something else.

CptnCedricMy advice is to watch for another hummingbird hammock drop when they come back up and knock 15 oz off your hammock weight.

New to hammock sleeping so forgive my ignorance. I recently purchased a double hammie from Bear Butt. Will this UQ 'fit' the BB hammie if I'm sleeping in it solo?

romelwellThis style of quilt is designed to work with any Gathered end style hammock, including the Bear Butt brand. Just clip the attachment hooks around each end suspension and adjust the shock cord tensioners to your liking (Instructions included with quilt and videos online), and sleep like a log.
