If you’re just headed out for the day, the weight of your bag isn’t your biggest concern, but for a more grueling trek, you need to go as low as possible. Constructed with a durable 100 percent Robic fabric that weighs in at only 41 ounces, the ULA Equipment Circuit Pack lets you go bare bones without sacrificing any function. The bag features a carbon fiber suspension hoop, contoured shoulders, a rolltop closure, compression straps, and pole retention loops. Letting you choose between weight and convenience, the bag also comes with the following removable accessories: a hydration sleeve, an internal stash pocket, water bottle holsters, handloops, and a single aluminum stay. While the stay provides more structure and the others better compartmentalize your carry, you can shed 7.1 ounces by removing the features.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of torso sizes (S-XL), hipbelt sizes (XS-XL), and shoulder strap styles (S- or J-curve), as well as your choice of colors between black, green, multicam camo, orange, purple, and red. At checkout, you can add the ULA Rain Cover (+ $26) in colors: black, blue, gray, green, orange, purple, raspberry, or red; as well as shoulder strap pockets (+ $17) in colors: black, original green, orange, purple blaze, red, or multi camo.
The brainchild of long-distance hiker Brian Frankles, Ultralight Adventure Equipment was founded in 2001 with the goal of providing lightweight, durable, and comfortable gear to a burgeoning community of ultralight hikers. It was nothing short of a success. By 2009, adherents of the ultralight ethos, such as Chris and Sally McMaster, found themselves on a 4-month waiting list for Frankles’s homespun gear. That’s when Frankles sold his business—to none other than the McMasters. The couple brought on sewing expert Rodney Tripp, a ULA customer himself, and soon the company was taking flight.
Today, Ultralight Adventure Equipment sells its wares to dealers around the world, even producing its own ULA 210 Robic fabric. Still, every product is made in-house at the Utah headquarters. But you won’t find ULA in stores. Available only through select dealers, the gear is manufactured on a limited-production basis to ensure that it’s as lightweight and durable as it was when it came from Frankles’s garage. To that end, every pack is PCT-ready and ensured for a lifetime by ULA’s warranty.
At only 3 ounces, ULA's Rain Cover is a nice add-on for our friends who hike regardless of weather. It fits ULA's packs perfectly and packs down small so it can easily be carried in a hipbelt pocket with room to spare. The cover comes in colors: black, blue, gray, green, orange, purple, raspberry, and red.
