Not all acoustic panels are made equal. Judging by the pictures they appear pretty solid and not as thin or porous as what you will find in bulk on Amazon. That said this is really high priced stuff. You are almost always better off buying sheets of rockwool paneling from a hardware store. Performance wise they are superior but there may be some DIY involved if you want to cover it with cloth or frame it with wood for better looks. Also foam is a poor choice for corner bass traps as foam panels are much better at deadening/absorbing higher frequency sound.

kirewarkThis is hugely important. The bulk panels on amazon are pretty weaksauce - I have a buddy who made this mistake. They're light and flimsy and aren't effective in doing their job - they just look like they should. I'd reckon these will do the job - but the rockwool method is what I would personally do.

cbtlrI used Rockwool sound deadening insulation inside the walls of my studio during construction. For acoustical treatment inside your recording space you can use foam panels similar to the ones offered in this drop. Or... you could build your own, using Owens Corning OC703 panels, covered in the fabric of your choice. Not to knock Massdrop's product, but it can get very expensive, real fast, if you're working with a good sized space. You can buy the Owens Corning product in packages of six panels... each panel is 24" X 48" the equivalent two, 24" X 24" panels sold in this drop... so one case is Six Times the number of square feet, and many consider it to be a superior product as well. Of course you need to add the cost of a fabric covering... but you end up with a custom space, with better acoustical characteristics, at a much lower cost. https://www.amazon.com/Owens-Corning-703-Fiberglass-Boards/dp/B005V3L834 http://www.buyinsulationproductstore.com/owens-corning-703-fiberglass-acoustic-board-2-3/ https://www.tmsoundproofing.com/Owens-Corning-703-2-Fiberglass-Board.html
