I finally got in contact with a live person at UE to get the fitment issue dealt with. It's basically a form to fill out that you mail back with the IEM's. For good measure I sent it back with full page color photos of my ears pointing out exactly where the problem is. Turnaround time is supposedly a few days if it's a touch up, a couple weeks if they need to remake the whole thing. There's no rush processing available on repairs (so what do artists do...have two sets?). $1000 for these things so I figure what's $30 to have it priority overnighted to them so they'll get it tomorrow morning.

AnonymousMassThats good news that you finally got hold of someone.
But ya generally artists have 2 sets, most of the time its 1 set of CIEM and 1 set of universal IEM ( like Shure SE 535s ) unless you are a huge act then you probably have the budget to make 2 sets of CIEM. I guess their " rush service " is overnighting to anywhere. There have been times where i have seen them overnight to a hotel, or even to an airport. Which is a nice touch.

AnonymousMassI carry a spare universal set of Shure IEMs in my kit just in case my artists lose or break their CIEMs. I will not get them a second moulded pair each because A) it's another $6000AUD minimum, B) the singer has already gone through 2 pairs in less than a year and if he always had decent spares on hand, he would go through a lot more. He hates using the Shures and he's now learning to respect his gear. And C) They all insist on using their CIEMs for everyday use and we cannot let them spend band money on personal items.
Besides, assuming the artist had both sets made at the same time, if they needed a refit both would be sent back and then you're back to square one.
