professordumasThanks for the advice. Checked them out today, bass and lower end sounded really good compared to my tf10 but lighter music, like pop and orchestra, didn't sound to my tastes. Not sure how to explain it, like, top end sounded less expressive than bass.
Shinigami84Yeah, they're definitely tuned flatter with a slight bump in bass and treble--but not much in the treble. I've got the Ostry KC06A, Senn Momentum, Shure 535s (asian release with greater reach on the high end) as well as the 1More Quads. I've also listened to the Shure 846. To my ear, the 1More Quads are perfect as as good or better than the Shure 846, and definitely the 535. I can't even listen to the Ostry and Sean IEMs any more. The Quads are the only pair of IEMs I've found that rival the Sennheiser 650 over-ear headphones for quality of sound. I listen to a wide range of genres--a lot of rock, alt, metal, blues, pop, and some jazz. But I'm 52 and don't hear highs as well as I used to. But I tend to prefer flat response in the upper registers with just a little bump in base. I'm curious to know what IEMs you like given your tastes. I'm constantly listening to different makes/models to see if there's something better out there, without breaking the bank too much. That said, it's worth it to me to shell out more $$$ if the sound is better. That's one reason I simply love the 1More Quads. To my ears they're as good or better a lot of IEMs in the $400-$800 range, all for $199. Incredible bang for the buck.
