Well.. So that is an Ultimate Ears In-Ear-Monitor.... Ok.. So after having some trouble receiving it in germany due to shipping and stuff, I finally got it and now was able to test it. Sound: Quiet decent. And with quiet I mean they perform great both in low and high volume. I like the bass, not as punchy as with my Beyerdynamic DT 990. Mids and Highs are easy to listen to. So they have become my usual headphones to carry around. BUT!! Build quality: SHIT! This is regarding the fact, that the MSRP is 400 USD. If you want to have it in the EU it is 400 EUR ~ 500 USD. This is inacceptable. I'll attach some pictures , that, in my opinion proof this.

So.. What do we see here? 1. I see a crackv in the housing (not caused by me) and a poorly glued backplate with bubbles, what means, that we have a preprogrammed weakspot whilst the aging process. 2. A cable that is twisted (thumbs up!) and detachable (great!). And it also has two "things" on it. Those seem to be silicone shrink tubes. One thats shrunk to keep the cables at a Y-position. One that works as a glider. They look cheap (0.05ct ?). 3. A backplate with a scratch. This scratch appeared after around 3 days of use. Carried around in the supplied case. And handled carefully. This is what annoys me the most. A product with a european MSRP of 500 USD has a scratch on the backplate, because the finish was too cheap to keep on the surface. I mean, with all due to respect, WHAT THE &^§%!!! If you don't want to have a black finish, then just let it off.

4. The carrying case is absolute shit! Blame the designer! The case is opening on the back, while opening it. So what you actually do is: Trying to fit all the cable clutter plus the IEMs inside a finger wide tube and hoping not to squeeze some of the parts when closing the back. While doing so, I've cut one of my foam tips on the upper end, see picture.

5. The little piece of try-to-hold-the-cables-together. It's annoying to carry on the cable, where it usually belongs. Always with fear of losing it. Of course you could say, carry it around in your case. I would, if there wouldn't be the high chance of dropping it, when opening it. Happened several times...
Conclusion: This is the second version of the headphones, luckily you didn't send the UE900, but they seem unfinished and rather prototypes than buyable items.
@UltimateEars FIX YOUR MSRP! THIS PRODUCT IS NOT WORTH 500 USD!!! I'd rather guess, that you've put the MSRP that high, to actually sell them, when they are "on sale". I considered this product, because I thought, that I might buy CIEMs of your brand later and thus getting this sticker. But what I see is, that they can't really be worth the price.
So, well played, you lost a customer, and all those that I might counsel at buying headphones.
Greetings, Tim EDIT: - they appear to suffer in sound when played on lower volumes - I got electro shocks several times, while wearing them. Not severe, but uncomfortable when not expecting.

Valensilius_ZephyrusImagine when you get zapped touching something. Not that strong but definitely noticable. Happens around the connectors.

ScareactorAll the build quality horror stories here are discouraging. And I was interested in trying this one out later.
