Essentially, the 800 should be good for most anyone given some knowledge of how to hang a hammock. Give the strap some good angle off the tree and you're using more of the tree for lift. Seen lot of folks go to almost no angle, sometimes for no reason, sometimes because they are forced to do so due to longer tree distance and only being able to go so high up the tree. When that happens, the force on the strap can easily exceed 1000 lbs.
