Does anyone have any practical experience camping with this hammock? According to their website the scout is only 9' long, which seems a little short for being able to lay flat. Most other camping hammocks are 10' or 11'.

oddlotGood question! I'm with Ultimate Hammocks. You are right. For the best flat lay you would want a longer and wider hammock. We make a double that is perfect for that. This model, the Scout, is more of a casual model. Backyards, Parks, Car camping etc. If you want to spend the night you would probably like our Ultimate Hammock Double more.
