Easy-Wearing Race Vests in 3 Styles
Designed for everything from trail running and ultramarathons to biking, skiing, and more, these vests permit freedom of movement and unrestricted deep breathing without sacrificing stability. The large-holed microfiber mesh fabric increases circulation to keep you cool and comfortable, and features new soft-touch perimeter edging. Along with a large zippered main compartment, there’s a quick-stash pocket (for keys, lip balm, and other small items) with new elastic mesh for more stretch with less weight and bulk. The no-fuss bladder hanger system is great for aid stations and lightning-fast refills, and the Max O2 Sternum system is easy to get in and out of, with or without gloves. Once you’ve adjusted for the proper fit and locked down the strap, you won’t experience any slipping or change in tension.
Note: This drop’s base price is for the Alpha 2.0 in size small (Pitch Black), medium (Steep Green), or large (UltraRed). At checkout, you can opt for the Astral (+ $5) in standard (your choice of Luminous Blue, Pinnacle Pink, or Pitch Black) or small (Pitch Black). Or, pick up the Zygos (+ $30) in small/medium (Steep Green) or large/extra-large (Precipitous Blue). All vests come with a 2-liter bladder.
Which One’s Right for You?
The UltrAspire Altra 2.0 is the latest version of the award-winning Altra, with updated features and a total volume of 6 liters. If you need more room for a longer or more demanding trip, try the Zygos instead. This vest has everything we love about the Altra 2.0, plus a 9.21-liter capacity that makes it suitable even for extreme mountain scenarios. Then there’s the Astral: a women-specific running pack equipped with the company’s Curve harness, designed to free the chest from the pressure of pockets, weight, bounce, and excess fabric. It even offers extra support when adjusted for that purpose, and has a total volume of 5.5 liters.
