Got a ghastly ghoul you’re looking to deal with? Arm yourself with the Uncommon Carry Ghost Hunter laser toothpick crossbow and bust that ghost all by yourself Read More
I'm very dissatisfied! I received 2 boxes of parts - it's obvious one of the crossbows is missing and there is no 2nd laser (that was in the description). This is the 2nd time I've made a purchase from Massdrop where the description was incorrect or misleading :(
Anyone know where to find assembly instructions? Seems straight forward by looking at photos, but I don’t want to mess it up. Also, the battery in the laser “scope” is dead.
Garbage. Absolutely garbage. Assembly is not a problem if the screws didn't come cross threaded and stripped. The tool they included just spins in the hex bolt. The quality is absolutely terrible. Not only does the laser basically not attach at all I can barely shove a toothpick into it - the toothpick is gripped so hard it stays in place when I pull the trigger.
The ones in the pictures must have been pulled off of the assembly line before they got tossed into a bin to tumble around to get a nice used-and-abused finish. They look and feel like crap, the action is crap, total waste of money - another huge win for massdrop though, ya got us good again.
d_flo_yoAlso FWIW - there is no extra laser. They just straight up didn't include it in anyone's drop. Basically everything good you hear about this product is a lie.
Wow.. I wish I had done more research before joining this drop. These are trash. It’s like going to a resturant where all the pictures on the menu are beautiful and tasty looking and what you actually get just looks like crap on a plate. It doesn’t even come assembled, plus no instructions. I am only glad I didn’t pay full price. Also it says it comes with an extra laser, no extra was received.
Agree with everything flutterymuffins said, but also the machining on the laser I received is defective so that it does not stay on the gun. Pretty disappointed in this drop.
Quality is garbage. In the picture the crossbow is painted; mine is not painted, scratched to heck and back, and has all kinds of sharp edges. Seriously the thing looks like a pre-production prototype. And as for the "Ghost Hunter", well you couldn't hunt a dead cockroach with this. The finish is albeit nicer than the crossbow, but it doesn't work. As in, does not fulfill the purpose it was created for. The draw string does not lock into place. At all. Thus it cannot be fired.
There is a fancy little spring in the center of the draw string. If you try to lock the string in place with the spring it will not catch. If you move the spring, it does catch, but the string is too small and it cannot hit the toothpick. Plus the string drags along the "gun" and removes the paint. So you have a choice between a gun that doesn't even cock, or a gun that cocks but cannot fire. Oh, and the laser battery cannot be replaced.
Do Not Buy This.
flutterymuffinsI was able to replace the batteries in the laser by gripping the on / off button with pliers and aggressively pulling it straight out. I also was able to fix the draw string catch by flipping a part inside the gun, it looks like they were assembled backwards. Green is good, red is bad:

Still a crap deal, but I figured I knew what I was getting into with this one... No spare laser for me either, and the finish is poor.
Man, are you kidding me. I heard that my former subordinates at the agency wanted to buy this for me. They never could accept the fact that a "bird brained parrot" was more intelligent then them and even worse, was their boss. What good is this if it "Shoots toothpicks, Q-tips, matches, and other small projectiles." Suppose I really need to neutralize someone!
