I'll say it if nobody else will. This is just plain wrong Massdrop! "Common Sense" dictates this ad & offering be pulled.

BoomtownGood idea man, maybe Massdrop can offer tactical rocks with titanium eye spikes embedded, wooden handle as an upgrade. I need to check with the patent office ASAP!

MassjimYou are arguing that a miniature crossbow that shoots toothpicks 50 ft max is too dangerous to be sold on Massdrop. Now you are comparing wooden toothpicks to titanium spiked balls. So to be clear I countered your statement that this should be pulled because it's not as dangerous as you claim. You countered to that sarcastically saying massdrop should offer items that are more dangerous...? Please, keep going. You're stupidity is more amusing than anything I ever bought here.

MassjimSome people like toys that can be dangerous, man. Let them live their own lives. What they choose to do with their time and money is their business, not yours. So stop trying to ruin other people's fun because you find yourself making different choices than them. They're not going around asking that products you like be pulled.
And I know a lot of people feel this way, so don't feel attacked or anything. I enjoy shooting as a hobby and feel under attack all the time from people with similar mindsets. I guess my overall point is that everyone is different and deserves the freedom to make their own choices as to how to live their one and only life even if you would personally make different ones.

Rexar5My issue is only how Massdrop is marketing this unit: " Regarding performance, it’ll knock your socks off—or your coworker’s. Capable of shooting nearly 50 feet, this sharpshooter features a stainless steel construction with a natural wood handle for grip. Keep it loaded on your desktop and you’ll never have to worry about an office dispute. " Sure, it's a tongue in cheek blurb, but can you imagine the company legal team doing a face palm when someone sues them for an eye injury by a co-worker someplace citing this description by them, however humorous? My last employer threatened me & others with her pistol at work on several occasions, we all didn't find that funny either. THAT'S WHERE I'M COMING FROM. I just don't see this as a toy for work. Massdrop also sells knives, for cooking, camping and defense. I own one & am very pleased with the quality, but I have never seen even their tactical knives described as something to use on a co-worker in a dispute. I insulted no other person here. Like you I'm a long time gun owner, that's not my argument. I think my point was missed. You made a respectful reply Rexar5, I appreciate what you're saying.

MassjimOh, I get you. Thank you too for your respectful reply! Yeah, that marketing was a poor choice. That's awful with your previous employer. I'm glad you got out of that situation. He could have been charged for that. Or sued or both. That's insane. In the literal sense.

Rexar5Boss was a mentally unstable she that was issued a concealed carry. We always watched her arrival for her mood. I was the last employee to leave and she's now out of business. Lots of workplace and roadway shootings here in FL.

MassjimOk, I'm sorry. It's obviously wrong to threaten anyone in any circumstance especially a workplace. And it's reckless to advertise an item to be used to shoot people at your office. Fair. From my very first post I've only been trying to say you may be overestimating the power of this crossbow. I got in on a previous drop, the one that holds multiple picks, it doesn't pierce cardboard from 2 feet away. If you want to hurt someone with this you need to shoot them point blank in the eye, and even then they likely wont go blind. It'll be equivalent to shooting someone in the eye at point blank with a nerf gun. Unpleasant, but, not lethal.
