$94.99 MSRP? I don't think so: http://www.pckeyboard.com/page/product/UB40P4A

nickaa827He's right, the MSRP is not $94.99 and Massdrop's advertised savings is bullcrap.

CarmenOhioYeah, I am really confused here. They are saying we will get it for $85 if 30 people hop in the drop, while we can get it for $84 directly from the manufacturer?

metaCorrect you can buy this directly from the manufacturer for cheaper, and not have to wait for Massdrop to ship it. The only reason I can think of to buy it from Massdrop is if you prefer the black case with white/grey keycaps which isn't offered on Unicomp's website.

CarmenOhioI was lucky enough to get one of the "Pearl White" (beige) ones a little while ago for $85. I'm loving this thing, I do really wish that they'd add it some media keys though... And possibly cast new keycap molds, it's cool to have original (or very close to original) molds for the historical aspect, but they are a little rough on the edges. IT's not functionally bad, but if you look closely at the bottoms you'll usually see a little bit of flash still there. But as a keyboard, you just can't beat these things.

CarmenOhioyeah its not that much savings BUT like others have mentioned you get exclusive white/gray keycaps. I also can't speak for everyone but shipping cost is about 15 on Unicomp and I think 6 or 7 on Massdrop. Not HUGE savings but I this board is already one of the most modestly priced ones on the market on its own so I can't imagine them dropping too much in price. For me, the exclusivity of the keys and cheaper shipping costs was enough for me to finally pull the trigger on the Unicomp (which I have been going back and forth on for a while now). So in the end it was $99 vs $94 for a layout I won't be able to get anywhere on an item I already thought was a fair price and was considering buying. So if you wanted one anyways and you wanna save 5 bucks go for it!

comatoselosIn Canada shipping from Unicomp is $60, Massdrop ships it for $32. It's not the end of the world but the $28 savings are enough for me to justify buying a keyboard I don't really need. I could obviously ship it to some US PO box and go get it myself but that's another debate (I'm ~30 mins away from the borders).
