so, after getting the one with matias quiet tactile switches and 'vintage' caps, i'm wondering.. is there really a 'menu/app' key on the olivetti and dolch ones, but a 'fn' key on this one? or it's only the legends, and the 'app' key works as 'fn' on those? or the other way around? that wouldn't make much sense, but i'm really confused..

bamdadto answer my own question after i finally received it (local customs and the post sat on it for a month), there is indeed only a 'fn' key on the keyboard, which makes total sense. also, the typing feel is great. tactile, smooth and quiet (this is the matias quiet one).
however, there are some issues:
- the keycaps are near impossible to remove if you don't want to break them, but this is an ALPS/matias thing and will get better over time - some stablilsed keys rattle a lot (which makes my previous point all the more relevant) - thankfully the space bar is smooth as butter - there is *only* 6 key rollover:

perfectly enough for both typing and games, so not a major problem, but false advertising nonetheless : /
aside from these minor complaints it's an awesome board and totally recommended. : )

bamdadjust a few more pieces of information for the people who drop by - this reddit thread explains the situation about NKRO vs 6KRO over USB: http://bit.ly/2yMpg7e i suppose the 'go back to basics' approach of kbparadise also means that they are not messing around with potentially buggy firmware needed for NKRO, but they went ahead and placed the diodes in place for 6KRO. this makes sense, but i wish they included the LEDs too under the switches on matias boards too for some underglow. also, this *should* be clearly said from the beginning.
also, i managed to remove some keycaps.. with a lot of precise force. you absolutely have to use a wire keycap puller, and you need to pull really hard and absolutely straight up on them. no need to worry about the switches, they are securely mounted to the metal plate in the keyboard. the reason for the unrealistic force involved is that the caps have small molding errors, which kind of fuse with the middle part of the switch slider. so although they look awesome, the low quality of the molding and the fact that they're quite thin makes them a poor choice. they're even thinner than the similar looking ones on the dell AT101W.
tl;dr: i am still really enjoying this board, so don't let what i just said deter you from requesting/buying it. just make sure to select some doubleshot keycaps for it and be aware that there's only 6KRO. that's all, i guess i'll just shut up now. : )

bamdadone last bit of info: i have undampened the switches and the result is awesome. sounds mostly like black ALPS but has a sharper and harder tactile bump. also, the slight 'rubbery' feel of the keyboard is gone. i can also confirm that the switches are lubed on the inside.
the mod can also be reversed if you don't misplace any of the little rubber dampeners.
