How does this board stack up against the CODE w/ Clears? I'm not the biggest fan of TKL, and really love how the CODE types, but $125 shipped is pretty tempting. If the V80 matches in feel and construction, I might cave.

protogonIf it means anything to you, I have both a V60 and a WASD keyboard and I think that CODE is of slightly higher quality. Also I am not a fan of the thin ABS that the keycaps on these KBP keyboards are made of.

protogonI have not used the V80, but i bought a CODE off of amazon a couple days ago and am going to return it. I had two main problems with CODE. First, and Im sure this is rare, but the one i received is not level. Meaning that when its on my desk it wobbles. i had to put a couple of pieces of paper under the bottom left side to make it stable. The second issue i had was the keys made a very noticeable "ping" sound when typing. I have read that i can lube the switches to lessen that but i dont feel like i should have to do that on a $150 board. Besides that i didnt really care for the keycaps and the LED lights stayed on even when my computer was turned off. Mostly minor stuff, besides the wobble, but more issues than i care for on such a pricy board. I ended up buying a Deck TKL with browns instead, and am also thinking about buying this mass drop as im still not sure if i like the browns or clears more.

mannchildSame experience here. I bought a CODE from amazon last week and the pinging was crazy loud. I mean LOUD. I can hear it at least 6 feet away. My keyboard was leveled and the LED had no problem. I returned it solely because of the pinging. It's a shame, cuz I really liked the CODE overall but I just couldn't handle the pinging. I bought a KUL ES-87 right after I returned the CODE and I haven't received it yet. I hope it doesn't have the crazy pinging issue.
Edit. I just got the KUL keyboard and did a few test types on the keyboard. From typing point of view, the keyboard is far superior to CODE without any doubt. The switches feel like they have already been broken in (meaning very smooth.) The clear switches on CODE felt a lot harder to type on. The most important of all, the keyboard has much less pinging compared to code. It's more like the usual pinging with tactile switches, which is fine with me. Physical keyboard construction is below CODE. If V80 is on par with KUL, it would be a great keyboard.
