With that lid and paracord, I can't just throw this into a campfire to boil water can I?

"At checkout, choose the uninsulated Para-Bottle (base price) or the uninsulated Para-Bottle (+ $3) in black or natural." hmm... the uninsulated one at the base price, or the uninsulated one for $3 more. :) Most will figure it out, but the ops might want to correct this typo (assuming the second option was supposed to be 'insulated')

Mine kept ice all day long in 119* temperatures. I live in Phoenix and work outside. Worth every penny. Simply amazing.

Love the Vargo bottle. Bought it because it is insulated. Should keep hot/cold liquids hot/cold for long. But the bottle I bought has a leak. Water/drink remains hot/cold for 6-8 hours, but the bottle still leaks a bit.
KP78Hey @KP78 ! That shouldn't happen. We're happy to send you a new lid assembly to help correct the issue. If it still leaks after that, we'll replace the bottle for you. Just shoot us an email at info at vargooutdoors.com. Thanks!

Can someone do a test between this and the Yeti/Rtic temp-wise? I am using my 20oz Yeti for my coffee atm but I don't really like the lid because it's not spill proof. I bought some i-Kawachi spill proof lids but I am really skeptical about those...

Question for anyone who has this item. Are they Squaddie proof? I'm very clumsy and usually end up dropping flasks or falling against rocks and forget flasks are on the outside of rucksacks. So do these survive minor situations that would cause denting etc?(not talking about 30 foot drops etc, just the usual slip from hand height to floor).

CahanI have a hydroflask that's taken hand height drops and gotten some minor dents. Not a big deal, I think it adds character. I'd assume it'd be the same with this product as well.

CahanDon't waste your money on a yeti. The Vargo kept ice all day long with multiple refills of water in 119* temps. I do own a yeti cooler and it's way overrated !

For US users, especially for those with Amazon Prime, this isn't even worth the price/shipping. You'll get it faster from Amazon with hardly a noticeable savings.

1. Not a massive discount or something
2. With shipping it's only $0.45 cheaper
Not an amazing deal or something.

Vargo is a fantastic little company out of small town Pennsylvania. They are very popular in the Ultralight Community for their innovative, high quality titanium products. Last year we helped them launch their Titanium Para-Bottle, which people liked but the main requests were for a more affordable version, and with double-wall vacuum-sealed technology to keep beverages cold, or hot. Recently released is their steel Para-Bottle. It's got that familiar Nalgene-like design that we all know and love, but is insulated and made out of stainless steel. This bottle mates with most water filter adaptors should you use this out on the trail - I'm not aware of any other insulated bottle that has this feature. It's a new take on a classic design.
We have a couple of these floating around the office, being used by our Massdrop staff. So let us know if you have any questions!

DannyMilksYes, Danny, I have one. I'd be using this mostly just for toting coffee from restaurants; most likely about half filled most of the time. How much would half filling compromise heat retention performance? Or should I really sacrifice some optional uses and get something smaller (20 ounces or so)? Thanks for the assist!

C_ElegansNot a professional answer but it might help: The bottle is not half filled, it's filled with half coffee and half air, with air being an excellent heat insulator and coffee (water) a conductor. So it is most likely the coffee part of the bottle will conduct heat better than the part that's unfilled. Additionally, you have less heat mass (might not be the correct term), considering the full bottle has coffee with the same temperature, so for the half-filled bottle it will take more time for the energy to equalize between the coffee and insulation chamber+half unfilled area.
